- 2. I have been using this foundation for the past couple of weeks, and I find that it is the BEST foundation in keeping a matte look throughout the day. It's quite amazing, actually. First of all, I completely understand the flaw in pump functioning. I too had a problem with the pump, and was frustrated because I pumped at least 30x and still no product was dispensing. Then I tried pumping it while turning it upside down and after a few more tries, voila~ I use 1-1.5 pumps for my face. After applying primer and concealer, I stipple the foundation one area at a time and brush it in a circular motion using a buffing brush. Because it is a liquid-to-powder foundation, it's important to move quickly when applying. I tried MUFE Mat Velvet and absolutely hated it. Not only was the color all wrong, but it made me so greasy - the absolute opposite of what it claimed to do. Immaculate actually does what it says, and it's amazing that I look at my makeup at the end of the day and it's still there. I don't feel a need to blot with oil sheets or touch up with powder as much anymore! The sales associate said that i don't even have to use primer or setting powder, and she's right (although i still like to use a primer, just cause). In this case, it's an easy foundation to use that saves you so many steps and products! I would not recommend this for dry skin (because I had some flaky patches, this foundation accentuated it even more). But if you feel oily and want to look matte and don't want to fuss with touch ups during the day - I would recommend making this your splurge item! go for it! if you don't like it, sephora has a great return policy.
