**TURN OFF POP-UP BLOCKER**

**DPS CAN BE ACCESSED ON ANY UNCLASSIFIED WORK COMPUTER**
**Available computers can be found at any base library**
PCS: Your orders number is the CIC (Customer Identification Code) at the bottom of your web
orders, (Example 64002712CTB298Z). The orders date is the issued date located at the top of your
orders. The report date is the effective no later than date listed on your orders. Everything else is self
explanatory.
SEPARATIONS or RETIREMENT: Your orders number is the CIC. The issued date will be
the same as if you were to PCS. You will be asked for your EAS date, which is your effective date of
separation from active duty. DO NOT USE YOUR 1900 ORDERS.
HOME OF RECORD MOVES: Your orders number is the CIC. Your rank is the rank that is
specified on your orders. If you do not have dependents then you will select NO. If you do have
dependents then you will select YES. Your paperwork will show up at the origin DMO (located near
your home of record). You can get the contact information needed for your receiving DMO office
from any local DMO. For orders you will need pg. 3 of SRB, pg. 1 of enlistment contract, recruit
transfer orders, orders to and from school, orders to first duty station, and orders to current duty
station.
Step 1. GO TO WEBSITE www.move.mil/home.htm
Step 2. If you are logged in and a green page appears, instead of a blue one, you will need to
turn off your pop-up blockers. Go to the top of the internet browser and click on tools.
Next select pop-up blocker and turn it off. This must be done prior to going to the
website. Repeat action for registration and login.
Step 3. CLICK ON DOD CUSTOMER (LOCATED AT TOP OF PAGE)
Step 4. CLICK ON REGISTER (LOCATED RIGHT OF PAGE)
Step 5. A PAGE THAT ASKS FOR YOUR EMAIL WILL APPEAR. INPUT AN EMAIL ADDRESS THAT
YOU WILL HAVE ACCESS TO. (YOUR PASSWORD WILL BE SENT TO THIS ADDRESS)
PLEASE NOTE: YOUR SHOULD RECEIVE YOUR DPS PASSWORD WITHIN 24-72HRS.
Step 6. UPON RECEIVING YOUR PASSWORD, RETURN TO www.move.mil/hom.htm AND LOGIN.
(YOUR USERNAME WILL BE YOUR FULL SSN.)
Step 7. AFTER COMPLETING LOGIN, A BLUE PAGE WILL APPEAR. CLICK ON CENTER OF PAGE TO
ACCEPT USER AGREEMENTS. ON THE NEXT PAGE LOCATE AND CLICK ON THE RED BAR.
CLICK ON BEGIN SELF-COUNSELING.
Step 8. NOW THAT YOU HAVE FINISHED SETTING UP YOUR ACCOUNT, YOU CAN BEGIN SETTING
UP YOUR MOVE.

THE ETA HOME LOGIN PAGE (GREEN PAGE)
When the ETA home page appears, click on personal property (located left
of the page). After next page loads, click the DPS button.
Click on the self counseling tab. (Located on top left of the screen).
Click on customer profile. (Located left of the page, under counseling menu tab).
After next page loads Click on YOUR CUSTOMER INFORMATION.
CUSTOMER INFORMATION
Select your branch of service. Personnel status is going to be military. If a civilian with
the DOD, select Civilian. The rest consists of your personal information. The address at
the bottom is the in transit address (The address should be a permanent point of contact
address). PLEASE NOTE: This applies to all members.
POINT OF CONTACT
Select point of contacts. This person/people are authorized to be at the origin or
destination address if you are absent for pickup or delivery.
(Examples: Spouse, friend, or Roommate)
If this does not apply, select I acknowledge that I have no point of contacts.
CURRENT ORDERS
Any shipment ever created in the DPS system may appear when on this page. To add
current orders into DPS, click on Enter Order Information (Located on the left hand side
of page). Selecting this will take you to the next step.
(PLEASE NOTE: NOT EVERYONE WILL HAVE THIS CURRENT ORDERS STEP)
RANK AND HARD COPY ORDERS
Next page ask for rank and if you have hard copy orders. Your rank is as listed on your
orders. For hard copy orders, answer YES.
(MARINE Orders MUST have EGA in top left corner)
ORDER INFORMATION
Orders number may vary depending on your status as civilian, active duty, separating,
TAD, or having web orders. Regardless, the first page of this package explains what must
be inputted as orders number and orders date.
Headquarters issuing orders will be inputted as follows:
NAVY: BUPERS
MARINE CORPS: HQMC
CIVILIAN: CHRO

3. DUTY STATIONS
Under current duty station select Oconus, and then input Okinawa, Japan.
For new duty station select the duty station listed on orders. For members separating
input your HOME OF RECORD.
PLEASE NOTE: Some duty stations may fall under different bases. (Example: New
River, NC falls under Camp Lejeune, NC).
ORDER SELECTION
For order type you will select the one that applies to you. Then select Shipment of HHG
permitted.
TOUR INFORMATION
Current Unit is your present unit. Current APO / FPO will be FPO AP. New Duty
Assignment is your next duty station. If separating / retiring input Separation or
Retirement. Tour Type is Accompanied or Unaccompanied (PLEASE NOTE: If you
came to Okinawa on unaccompanied orders and gained a dependent, but did not receive a
tour conversion, you are still considered unaccompanied). The Report date is the no later
than date located on web orders. If separating / retiring put your effective date of
separation / retirement. If you have dependents please selected yes followed by how
many you have. (This includes dependents not located in Okinawa).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
For DITY moves (PPM) select NO to all of the above. For a government move list the
info of items you are shipping through the government. For moves to an area overseas
that allows you to ship a vehicle, select no for shipping POV. The Distribution
Management Office will set up all POV shipments separately. Ensure to ask responsible
DMO office if this applies. If you have items in government storage select YES in the
NTS section of page.
ENTILTLEMENT SUMMARY
Please Read information over. Check the box at bottom of page. Print documents for
future references.
CREATE NEW SHIPMENT
Check HHG. Select if shipment is a dity move (PPM) shipment.
PICKUP AND DELIVERY
Desired Pick-up and Delivery. PLEASE NOTE: Regardless of what is inputted here the
delivery date and pack dates will be recalculated. However your pickup date will remain
the same. The amount of days the movers need is based on how much weight is being
shipped.
**DO NOT SELECT A WEEKEND OR HOLIDAY FOR PICKUP DATES**

4. 20 business days are needed to set up DMO shipments. List to and from addresses. If you
have no destination address leave the Address Lines blank, enter only the City and state
or base and state. You can update your address at destination when you are ready for
delivery. All Okinawa address will have a GBLOC code. The GBLOC will always be
QIMS. (If destination address pops up with a GBLOC code, please contact your local
DMO office for help.) The in transit address is a permanent point of contact address. For
additional locations, please list at the bottom of page. Then use drop down boxes to select
your releasing and receiving agents.
BASIC HHG
If unsure of your estimated weights, fill out the weight estimator form. NOTE: THIS IS
ONLY AN ESTIMATE. Check all boxes that apply under the special items section. For
additional information you may list anything that is oversized or needs to be created in
the remarks.
Next page is the weight entitlement chart when leaving Okinawa, Japan. If you have any
questions please call one of the DMO offices.
MOTORCYCLES / FIREARMS
If shipping any motorcycles please let DMO know upon turning in your paperwork.
(PLEASE NOTE: Additional motorcycle paperwork is provided at this time).

5. SCHEDULING
If you want the items directly shipped to destination address select yes to are you
requesting direct delivery.
On preferred TSP select yes if you know the name of the moving company that you want
to use. If not, select NO.
SHIPMENT SUMMARY
If any excess cost applies it will be listed on this page.
Click the red box bottom after reading. Print this page.
DD1252 Form Information
Select Assigned to permanent duty overseas.
Place full name and date of birth in boxes at the bottom.
SHIPMENT SUBMIT
View and print forms, then submit package. If you have another shipment continue to
create a new shipment. Ensure you don’t create another HHG shipment. Select UB NOT
HHG for the shipment type. Everything else is completed the same as your HHG
shipment. Print all forms, submit all documents, and bring them into DMO.

What you will need to bring back to DMO!
1. Copies of orders. (6 for Unaccompanied, 12 for Accompanied.)
2. DD form 1299. (Please sign and date block 15. A-B)
3. DD form 1797. (Please sign and date block 9. C-D)
4. DD form 1252. (Please sign and date block 10. A-B)
5. Maps to location. One in English and one in Japanese. (only needed if you live off
base)
6. Flight itinerary. (For On Base Accompanied Marines only)
7. If a separating Marine you will need the first page of SRB.
** Please ensure to bring DPS paperwork to DMO office 20 business
days prior to the dates you have chosen for pick up**
