Edison. The light
bulb was invented in
1879.Another man
called in 1868
Dr.Carl Gassener Jr
invented the
batteries to put in
the torch so it could
work.

torch in the dark
to see. There is
no electricity to
connect the
torch because it
is hand held. So
it is handy to use
a torch.

5. A torch has a thick
handle with a
circle on the top.
It has a light bulb
that protects the
lamp covered with
plastic shaped as a
circle. It may
come in many
different colours
and designs.

6. The torch works by
the batteries. The
batteries give the
torch most power to
make the torch
work. There is even
a tube outside of a
torch. There is even
a light emitting
diode that is type of
LED. The LED glows
when electricity
flows through it.
