Colour I chose to use the traditional black and white colours but I wanted to gain a reaction immediately from my front cover so I included a lot of pink which I had originally seen on a magazine by NME which I felt worked really effectively so consequently I used this technique for my own magazine. The colour was striking and I used the typical colours which rock tends to be associated with such as red, black and grey. My masthead challenges the conventions of media products as the masthead is wavy with the wire on the speaker however it does uses the conventions of media products as it has the typical bold effect with the rest of the letters which is appealing and typical of this music genre. It could be compared to NME and KERRANG! My masthead is very focused and the image combined in the text emphasizes the importance of the magazine.
4. The magazine has a clear ideology of including new artists, it also focuses on what is becoming new and trendy in the music industry and they focus on which is just like my own music magazine. My magazine relates to this magazine. The magazine uses block lettering like my magazine and it uses the typical black, red and white for the masthead design. MOJO also inspired me to make my magazine unique as it uses different fonts so I used a different font for my slogan to make the masthead more appealing. My masthead could be compared to this music magazine. It uses the typical black and red colours which is a typical feature so therefore I used this to help me create a brand identity.

I like my masthead not only due to the fact it is unique and lures in the readers it is both conventional and unconventional of a typical music magazine, it combines both of these aspects to develop a product which is effective and more impressive. The features on my product is primarily conventional but the aspects of including typography which isn't always blocked and straight cut makes he identity diverse.
