Take it from 800 down to 600 words, losing approximately 100 from each letter. Do this surgically. Do not use a saw. Use a scalpel. Trim line by line, one sentence at a time. Use sentence combining skills. Cut redundancies, unnecessary adverbs and adjectives. Restructure sentences to say more with less. Do NOT hack out entire paragraphs.
