This presentation offers one perspective on how Lean Six Sigma, CMMI, and other best practice models and standards can be combined to leverage the best features of each. Lean Six Sigma and CMMI differences and similarities are examined, including how they typically differ in terms of deployment, investment, and ROI. A "low-calorie" approach to LSS deployment is described. The role of LSS in relation to CMMI specific and generic goals is examined. Direct and indirect connections between LSS and CMMI are examined in the context of specific Process Areas in order to clarify when and how they are likely to interact and which may be regarded as 'first'.
