Every organization has some value chain comprised of employees, partners, suppliers, and customers. B2B comprised of your suppliers, partners, or vendors. There’s also B2E = business to employees or we might refer to that as E2E = employees to employees. And there’s b2c=business to consumers and C2C = consumers to consumers. Across these value chains, a social organization exists. This is a social organization. This is social business. The work environment has moved towards an online one where the dominant communication model is social in nature. A different set of skills, techniques, and processes are required. How can we possibly understand our social customer if we don’t conduct ourselves with the same social behaviors internally? Having a Facebook page, or twitter account is NOT enough! We need to organize our business processes and the way we collaborate in a fundamentally social manner --- through community. And within these communities are numerous sub-communities. Let’s explore the meaning of community….
There are hundreds of examples where people, conversations and activities come together independent of any business “process” across the social organization to create value.
