1. HOW EFFECTIVE IS THE
COMBINATION OF YOUR MAIN
PRODUCT AND ANCILLARY
TEXTS?

2. Intention
Taken from our audience research, and study of
conventions, we discovered that the audience wanted a
clear link between the music video and the ancillary texts.
Therefore we felt it important to come up with a concept
that was both original, but had a clear link the between all
three media’s.
3. Magazine Advert & Video
We have linked in the music video by
using the same imagery. In this case the
Radio, which we have modified so the
BUSH now read E.L.O. We have also tried
to incorporate our idea of Blue sky and
the outdoors which makes up our
background.
For the remainder of the advert we have
used conventional ideas to display the
information in a concise but bold way.
4. Magazine Advert & Digipack
We have used the same imagery throughout the Advert and
Digipack. This has allowed us to go with a slick and interesting
idea. We have flipped the front image on the back, as well as
this we have used a blown up image of circular frequency
wheel, whilst the inside cover uses a different theme to show
the band members to the audience along with adding essential
information such as copyright details.
5. Digipack & Video
Our video and digipack our
very similar, we have done
this by adding the same
Poster edge filter to them.
We have also brought in the
radio image which appears
throughout the video. All
characters that appear in
the video also appear
on the digipack.
6. Effectiveness
The effectiveness of our music video and ancillary tasks means that the audience
can relate to the products as a whole. The links between each of the texts is
strong therefore it will be easy to market to an audience.
The bright colours and fun characters, will create an upbeat feeling to our music
video as well as our Digipack and magazine advert.
The colour scheme that we have used is bright and should attract the audiences
attention. They should also directly sell the song through the use of picture of an
image that features several times in the music video.
The inclusion of Facebook and twitter symbols allow the audience to acquire more
information about the artist and lead them directly to the video. Similar the quote
on of the magazine advert demonstrate’s the popularity of the music. The use of
iTunes, Google and Amazon gives the texts a contemporary feel to the texts.
