2. Summary
Music has changed through out our generation. As the years passed, the
music has became more and more popular. Many people throughout our
generation don’t know what’s the true meaning of music. But, music comes
from people’s emotions on how they feel at that point and time. These are
some of the music our generations listen to up until this time.
3. Silent Generation

Started in the early 1920’s
Is an off shoot to jazz music that is rooted in both African and Europe
traditions
The swing dance is based on music flow, not to the beat
4. The cultural impact of swing music
Swing was to escape the seriousness of WW2
5. King of Swing
The kings of swing were Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Dukes Ellington, and
Count Bassic.
They were famouse for there performance in bars, and for entertainment
shows.
6. Jazz Music
Know for its spontanius and emotion.
Some of the famouse artist for jazz were Miles Davis, Billie Holliday, and
Dizzy Gillespie.
7. Beatnik Music
Beatnik is one who does not allow society to slow him/her self down. It is one
who lets their mind wonder by eliminating the distractions caused by
society.

8. Music Of Religion
Music can unlock and evoke powerful religious emotion. The church has a centuries -
old history of music in worship. The medieval church recognized the ties between
music and our emotions and composed might hyms of power and glory, many of
them echoing the songs of the bible including Miriams song od deliverance following
the parting of the sea and the angels who sang of christ birth and will trumpet the
songs of the second coming.
