King James said that they must use the same prayers that he did; and if they did not, then they would be thrown into prison or made to move away from their family and friends.
3. "Let us go away from this country." Said the unhappy people. So they left their homes and sailed across the sea to a country called Holland. It was about this time they started to call themselves "Pilgrims". Pilgrims are people who travel to faraway places searching something that they love.
4. One of the Pilgrims called William Bradford was from a village close to us called Austerfield. When he was older he wrote a book about his life and the other Pilgrims called. "Of Plymouth Plantation."
5. In Holland, the Pilgrims were very happy for about 12 years, but they did not have much money and were very, very poor. The Pilgrims became worried about their children who were growing up and speaking Dutch. They just wanted to be like their Dutch friends and not speak English at all. The children even said, that they did not go to church anymore. "This will never do," said the Pilgrim Fathers and so they decided to move their families to America.
6. The Pilgrims hired a ship called The Speedwell to take them back to England and meet up with other Pilgrims ready for the trip to America. The Speedwell, though was not a strong ship and began letting in water. The Pilgrims decided to return to England and put everyone into The Mayflower. On the 6th September 1920 the Pilgrims were all squashed into the Mayflower and set sail towards America.

13. "Let us thank God for all of this food," they said. The Pilgrims had a great Thanksgiving Party and invited all their friends together with the local people who had helped them during that first cold winter. They all rejoiced together.
