• Affirmative
am/ are/ is + V(ing)
e.g: He’s watching television now.
• Negative
‘m not/ isn’t/ aren’t + V (ing)
e.g: I’m not enjoying this party.
• Questions
am/ is/ are + subject + V(ing)
e.g: Are you studying English?
4. Spelling variations:
• If a verb ends in –e, we don’t write the –e.
e.g: write writing
• If a verb ends in consonant + vowel +
consonant, we usually double the
consonant.
e.g: run running
travel travelling
• Irregular:
lie lying die dying
