Raymond Elementary School Raymond Elementary, located at 921 Commercial Street, was built in 1955 and completely remodeled in 1997. The facility is in very good condition. The elementary has 22 classrooms, four commons areas and a gym. All elementary classrooms are wired for phones and have additional infrastructure for technology, including 100 Mbps ethernet and wi-fi access.

Raymond  Junior/Senior High School Raymond Junior/Senior High School, located at 1016 Commercial Street, is a 38,000 square foot facility which was completed in 2002. The facility includes 22 classrooms, a commons area, gym, library, a state-of-the-art kitchen and a new auto shop. All classrooms are wired for phones and have  additional technology infrastructure,  including 100 Mbps ethernet and wi-fi access .

Where do we go from here? Our testing trends show us that while there has been improvement and strong performance in many areas, we still have some challenges facing us; of the possible 111 federal Annual Yearly Progress standards that apply to school districts, we missed making 1 of them. We are committed to every child reaching his or her potential. If we are serious about mission of “every child learning”, some change is in order. We have put into place a system of frequent assessments that allows us to track standards-based progress for individuals, classrooms, grade levels, schools and the district as a whole. Teachers are using real-time data to adjust instruction and reach the high standards that have been set by the state.
I-728 Funds Use In 2001 the voters of our State overwhelmingly passed I-728 “to improve public education and to achieve higher academic standards for all students through smaller classes and other improvements.”   The following are the standards of implementation of the Initiative: (1) reducing class size by hiring more teachers; (2) providing extended learning opportunities such as full-day kindergarten and before- or after-school programs; (3) providing additional professional development for educators tied to State standards and student needs; (4) providing early assistance for children who need pre-kindergarten support; and (5) making facility improvements to directly support class size reductions and extended learning opportunities.    Our district used its most recent allocation to do the following as recommended by a staff-community committee and approved by the Raymond School Board: extended learning for high school students and other learning opportunities beyond the normal school day.

  • 8. Raymond Elementary School Raymond Elementary, located at 921 Commercial Street, was built in 1955 and completely remodeled in 1997. The facility is in very good condition. The elementary has 22 classrooms, four commons areas and a gym. All elementary classrooms are wired for phones and have additional infrastructure for technology, including 100 Mbps ethernet and wi-fi access.

  • 14. Raymond Junior/Senior High School Raymond Junior/Senior High School, located at 1016 Commercial Street, is a 38,000 square foot facility which was completed in 2002. The facility includes 22 classrooms, a commons area, gym, library, a state-of-the-art kitchen and a new auto shop. All classrooms are wired for phones and have additional technology infrastructure, including 100 Mbps ethernet and wi-fi access .

  • 21. Where do we go from here? Our testing trends show us that while there has been improvement and strong performance in many areas, we still have some challenges facing us; of the possible 111 federal Annual Yearly Progress standards that apply to school districts, we missed making 1 of them. We are committed to every child reaching his or her potential. If we are serious about mission of “every child learning”, some change is in order. We have put into place a system of frequent assessments that allows us to track standards-based progress for individuals, classrooms, grade levels, schools and the district as a whole. Teachers are using real-time data to adjust instruction and reach the high standards that have been set by the state.
  • 22. I-728 Funds Use In 2001 the voters of our State overwhelmingly passed I-728 “to improve public education and to achieve higher academic standards for all students through smaller classes and other improvements.”   The following are the standards of implementation of the Initiative: (1) reducing class size by hiring more teachers; (2) providing extended learning opportunities such as full-day kindergarten and before- or after-school programs; (3) providing additional professional development for educators tied to State standards and student needs; (4) providing early assistance for children who need pre-kindergarten support; and (5) making facility improvements to directly support class size reductions and extended learning opportunities.   Our district used its most recent allocation to do the following as recommended by a staff-community committee and approved by the Raymond School Board: extended learning for high school students and other learning opportunities beyond the normal school day.
