Some subcultures are unable to be categorised into whether or not they are beneficial or not.Some of these subcultures may be able to fall into both, like skating, a few good things about it is that it’s fun, requires a skill, however is also seen as a gateway to areas where drugs and things like this are involved. Sometimes also vandalism. With things like punk a benefit to is is that it shows that the larger community allows for people to express themselves in whatever way they want, whereas the worse sides of it is that some older people may feel that they’re about to get mugged or something like that.
