EMO 2013 - GAMOR IN HALL 26 STAND C51
1. / SCREWED
Gamor, S.L. is a small and remarkable
company from Guipúzcoa, northern province
in the Spanish Basque Country. It is a global
benchmark for the manufacturing of tapping
machines and Spanish leader in the
manufacturing of chuck jaws. At the EMO,
Gamor will present its technical innovations
for tapping, clamping and sharpening
solutions.
GAMOR REINFORCES
ITS BRAND IMAGE
IN EUROPE AT THE EMO
The aims of the participation in the EMO event are:
• First,to strengthen the German market, where last year's
sales of the tapping machines (pneumatic and hydraulic)
went up to reach the best sales year in the history of
Gamor, and to introduce the other two sections (clamping
and sharpening/deburring solutions) of the company in
the German market.
• The second objective is to consolidate the brand image in
Europe, not only in the tapping sector, but to advertise
ourselves as manufacturers of jaws for lathes (where we
have been leaders in the Spanish and Portuguese market
for more than 40 years). These products have not been
promoted outside the Iberian Peninsula due to excess
demand that Gamor was facing with these markets only
until recently.
Gamor has been preparing for 3 years to achieve these
objectives, restructuring its production, sales and after-
sales systems by means of an ambitious ERP: renewing its
production and administration system, on-line systems,

updating its corporate image and dividing its production
lines for marketing purposes into 4 business divisions:
Red division – hydraulic tapping
machines
The development of a proprietary invention patent,
the subsequent improvement, and new use
patents have positioned a small company like
Gamor as a world leader in tapping machines.
The tapping range of Gamor machines in
addition to being the best in the world in terms
of precision, capacity, power and speed is the
widest range to be found in tapping machines
worldwide. Currently, Gamor manufactures
24 different models, for vertical and
multiposition tapping, with capacities of M2-
M16, M3-M20, M4-M24 (Small series),
M2-M30, M2-M36, M2-M39, M2-M45 (Medium
series) and M3-M60, M3-M110 and M3-M130
(Big series). In several cases the machines are
combined with special clamping accessories for
safe and simple mooring.
Blue division – pneumatic tapping
machines
Gamor developed its pneumatic tapping machines in
2000 reacting on request of its distributors, who wanted
simpler and more economic tapping machines than the
hydraulic units. Gamor's first objective was to produce
a machine that would improve and correct the faults of
the dozens of brands that were on the market, the
construction quality of which was very poor.

objectives, restructuring its production, sales and
after-sales systems by means of an ambitious RP
3. / SCREWED
Aware that the development of a poor quality pneumatic
tapping machine would hinder the sales of the hydraulic
tapping machines, Gamor initiated this product line by
adopting the pantograph system, currently used by all other
tapping machine manufacturers, but correcting and
reinforcing their weak points. New materials were also
introduced to improve them, and the result was a range of
pneumatic tapping machines that are easy to use for
carrying out tapping operations in the most economical and
quickest way.
There are 10 different models with capacities of M2-M8, M3-
M12, M3-M16, M4-M20 and M5-M24, giving a simple, robust,
and reliable solution with the ergonomic pantograph tapping
arms.
Yelow division – clamping systems
The clamping division is made up of 2 sub-divisions: the
Gamor offers the biggest and widest range of soft, hard and
special jaws adaptable to chucks of all brands used in
Europe. More than 2.500 standard references and more than
5000 special jaws have been designed and manufactured in
accordance to customer needs. Gamor's clients are from
sectors as demanding as wind power, valves, automotive,
aeronautics, railway, ship building, etc. This division is
complemented by the exclusive distribution for Spain of the
extensive catalogue of clamping products of the prestigious
Polish company Bison-Bial, manufacturer of self-centering
and power chucks, vises, life centres, indexing devices, VDI
holders, and other spindle tooling accessories and tools.
Green division – sharpening and sand-
belt machines
The Gamor sharpening and deburring division consists of
table top sharpening and belt-deeding machines. The
company produces one of the simplest, easiest to handle
and accurate bit sharpeners on the market. In contrast to
other brands and models, its structure, design and
ergonomics result in a machine that will sharpen HSS and
hard metal drill bits economically and accurately for many
years.
Currently, the company offers 3 models with sharpening
capacities of Ø2-13, Ø3-20 and Ø12-26/30.
In 2007, the prestigious Apollo end-mill sharpeners (Apollo
13 and Apollo 22) from the Japanese firm Bic-Tool for 2 and
4 fluted end-mills were included in the programme. The
result was a small revolution in the European sharpening
world due to their extraordinary simplicity in handling and
incredible design inspired by the NASA Apollo missions.
This division also manufactures the abrasive belt-
deedingmachines —Gamor TG—2000. This was originally
developed for internal use at Gamor needed for the jaw
manufacturing. It is a table top deburring machine located
on each machine, occupying a very small space, used for
removing burrs from milling, turning and sawing operations.
Machining companies that visited Gamor soon saw the
usefulness of this simple machine for their production and
after manufacturing them on request for other companies
in the area, in 1985 it went on to become a mass production
product.
The Gamor deburring machine is a clear example of
Gamor's manufacturing philosophy, as it is a product of
simple design, easy to use, very robust and essential once
used in production. /
