HOW TO SET UP GRAVATAR To setup a gravatar, you need to provide an email that will be associated with it. So, go to Gravatar home page and enter your email in the box specified and click Get Your Gravatar. Alternatively, you can go directly to the signup page and enter the required email and click Signup. A confirmation email would be sent to the email entered previously. Open your mail and click on the confirmation link. At this point, you’ll need to enter your username and password for the account created on gravatar. Choose the username people will easily identify you with because, once entered and checked to be available it can not be edited after signup. The username must be lowercase all through. Numbers are also allowed, but with no spaces or punctuation marks. Put in your password and re-enter the password in the next box for confirmation. Check the terms of service and privacy box. Now click on Signup. To add your gravatar image, click on ‘Add one by clicking here’ below. There are three different locations you can source for image to upload. On your computer hard drive From the internet Or a previously uploaded image on gravatar. For this slideshare, we shall be uploading from the computer. Click on Browse to choose an image from your computer hard drive. A screen will pop up. Select the appropriate file you want to select the image. Click on the image and then click on save. The path to the file is copied automatically into the box. Click on Next to continue. This is the next screen you’ll see, showing you the image you uploaded. Crop it to fit the shape you want. When you are done, click on Crop and Finish. You have to set a rating for your gravatar. All you have to do is click on the rating that best describe your gravatar. I’ll advise you choose G because, it is suitable for display on all website. Now you can add a new email and image or add new images on the same email. You can also change or delete images uploaded. When you click on My Account, there are menu you can access directly. They are listed under My Account. That’s all about setting up your gravatar. Whenever you post or comment on any website, the image associated with your log in email will display automatically if the site support gravatar.
