The feel-good rally triggered by a slew of robust economic data continued today unabated amidst reports of continuing
buying activities of foreign portfolio investors (FPI). The ceasefire deal between Russia and Ukraine fueled additional
enthusiasm in already ‘Modi’fied sentiments. Nifty created yet another record closing high beyond 8100 while Sensex
slammed a century to shoot past 27100. IT pack led the gainers on BSE.
On global front, US indices closed mix despite good reports from manufacturing sector. Asian & European benchmarks
mostly trended in positive.
Closer home on stock specific front, telecom leader Bharti Airtel (up 2.87%) created a new 52 week high at 408.25 on
BSE on getting law ministry’s approval for its Rs 700 crore deal with Loop Mobile. The deal will allow Bharti to acquire
Loop Mobile’s three million subscribers in Mumbai along with its infrastructure, 400 towers.
Era Infra gains 4.75% on BSE after on receiving order worth Rs 314.61 crore from Airport Authority of India (AAI) for
Construction of New Integrated Terminal Building at VSI Airport, Port Blair.
T h e market breadth on the BSE closed in negative. Advancing and declining stocks were 1578 and 1587
respectively, while 126 scrips remained unmoved.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 27139.94, up 120.55 points or 0.45%. The 30 share index touched a high and a low
of 27225.85 and 27067.02 respectively. 15 stocks advanced against 15 declining ones on the benchmark index.
The CNX Nifty gained 31.55 points or 0.39% to settle at 8114.60. The index touched high and low of 8141.90 and
8092.25 respectively. 25 stocks advanced against 25 declining ones on the index.
S&P BSE Sensex CNX Nifty
The S&P BSE Mid-cap index moved up to 9604.87 and gained 0.85% while S&P BSE Small-cap index jumped up by
0.39% to 10533.72.
The broader S&P BSE 500 index increased to 10343.89 (up 0.51%) and CNX 500 index rose to 6517.70 (up 0.51%).
The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX lost 0.45% at 13.39 from its previous close of 13.45 on Tuesday.
Sectors in action
On the BSE Sectorial front, Information Technology (up 2.50%), Real Estate (up 2.15%) and Metals (up 1.16%) were
the top gainers.
FMCG (down 0.59%), Banks (down 0.12%) and Power (down 0.06%) were the top losers.
The Angels and the Devils
Infosys Ltd (up 3.41%), Coal India Ltd (up 3.40%), Wipro Ltd (up 3.00%), Bharti Airtel Ltd (up 2.87%) and Tata
Consultancy Services Ltd (up 2.45%) were the top gainers on the Sensex.
GAIL (India) Ltd (down 1.93%), ITC Ltd (down 1.65%), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (down 1.48%), Bajaj Auto
Ltd (down 1.28%) and Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 0.96%) were the top losers on the Sensex.

Infosys Ltd (69.07 points), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (42.03 points), ITC Ltd (-37.46 points), Larsen And Toubro
Ltd (20.55 points) and Bharti Airtel Ltd (18.10 points) were the major Sensex drivers today.
On the other end Infosys Ltd (17.06 points), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (11.67 points), ITC Ltd (-9.37 points),
Bharti Airtel Ltd (5.23 points) and Larsen And Toubro Ltd (4.56 points) were the major Nifty movers today.
