General Description
A transceiver module is a equipment comprising both a transmitter and a receiver. When no
circuitry is common between transmit and receive functions, the device is a transmitter-receiver.
The term originated in the early 1920s. Technically, transceivers must combine a significant
amount of the transmitter and receiver handling circuitry.Similar devices include transponders,
transverters, andrepeaters.
In a word, transceiver is to convert the light into electrical singal.

Classified by its function ,there are 3 kinds of transceiver module.
Opitcal Transmitters: Optical transmitter module in addition to having a photoelectric conversion
functions, also has an integrated signal processing functions, such as: MUX/DEMUX, CDR lot,
function control, energy acquisition and monitoring functions. Common optical transmission
module are: 200/300pin, XENPAK, and X2/XPAK etc.
