from Transit Development Plan (TDP)
– Goal: Increase transit ridership and encourage
use of Silver Line by providing transit service to
new Metrorail stations in Tysons and Reston
• Plan revised to incorporate public comments
6. County of Fairfax, Virginia

City express service (New Route 599)

Herndon
• New route in Herndon to provide better access to
the Silver Line

7. County of Fairfax, Virginia
“Optional” Services
• “Optional” services are not included in the base plan
(cost-neutral) but were recommendations we heard in
Round 1
• “Optional” services are not just “optional” routes, but
include additional service to routes proposed in the
base plan (more frequency, weekend service, etc.)
• Not all “optional” services may be recommended for
implementation
– However, those services/routes that are recommended for
implementation may be funded by the Commonwealth of
Virginia’s new transportation funding legislation, House Bill
2313
• When you see the star symbol we need your
comments!
