Ending Homelessness in the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Take Action Today Homelessness is a real problem in our community. YOU can help IMPACT homelessness TODAY.

Did you know… Hundreds of children in our community do not have a permanent place to call home.

Did you know… More than two-thirds of adults in homeless families are employed. To afford an apartment, they would have to work 90 hours per week at minimum wage.

Did you know… Many homeless men and women suffer from serious mental illness or substance abuse, and many have chronic health problems and/or physical disabilities.

Our community has committed to ending homelessness in 10 years.

During the past year, the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing program (HPRP) has helped prevent more than 900 children, women and men from becoming homeless.

Our Challenge Financial assistance through HPRP will be exhausted in approximately 2 months.

Give as much as you can. Donate funds to the Fairfax-Falls Church Homelessness Partnership Fund/CFNCR. 100% of your donation will impact our most vulnerable neighbors. Checks payable to the fund can be send to Fairfax County Office to Prevent and End Homelessness 12000 Government Center Parkway, Suite 561 Fairfax, VA 22033

[object Object],$50 A winter coat, an interview suit or the cost to get to and from work for one week.

[object Object],$200 Kitchen supplies to start a new life in one’s own home.

[object Object],$250 Keep a household heated for one month this winter.

[object Object],$350 Room and board for a homeless youth trying to finish high school.

[object Object],$400 Graduation fees for a high school senior to participate in graduation activities.

[object Object],$800 Housing subsidy for a month for a working family of three.

[object Object],$1,000 Training class for a working adult to develop skills to increase income.

[object Object],$12,000 Keep a family in their home for one year.

[object Object],$25,000 Keep a family in their home for two years.

Share your talents and volunteer your time. Offer support that would be most beneficial to local organizations helping homeless families and single adults. Visit www.fairfaxcounty.gov/homeless/give to find out how you or your organization can contribute through volunteering and providing in-kind goods and services.

[object Object],Share Your Talents. Provide loaned executives or in-kind professional services to advance our goal to end homelessness.

[object Object],Your Time Is Invaluable. Encourage your employees to volunteer. Dedicate time and ideas to programs within your community and neighboring areas.

[object Object],Find Solutions Together. Talk with your staff and colleagues about how you can work on related issues such as paying living wages, providing education, stopping domestic violence and increasing the availability of affordable housing.
