Jacques Benveniste
A TRUE LEGEND AMONG MYTHS
The preservation of an outstanding French scientist and his research
Outstanding French scientist Jacques Benveniste (1935-2004) - author of over 300
scientific articles on medicine related to the area of molecular biology, was known as a
successful researcher who discovered a new, important lipid mediator. According to
colleagues, Benveniste was a potential Nobel Prize candidate for his research
discoveries.
Approaching the peak of success, Jacques Benveniste unexpectedly departed from the
conventional scientific arena in order to concentrate on less traditional forms of
research. In 1998, the authoritative London weekly scientific journal Nature published
his article with co-authors Davenas, E., Beauvais, F., Amara, J., Oberbaum, M.,
Robvizon, B., Miadonna, A., Tedeschi, A., Pomeranz, B., Fortner, P., Belon, P., Sainte-
Laudy, J., Poitevin, B. & Benveniste, J., Titled: Human basophil degranulation triggered
by very dilute antiserum against IgE. Nature, 333, 816-818. The published article had
presented astounding results from Benveniste unconventional research. The
controversial article caused heated debates amongst the prevailing scientific dogma in
physics, chemistry and biology.
The inability to consistently repeat his experiments resulted in Jacques Benveniste being
rejected by the scientific community, deprived of laboratory accesses and dismissed
from the INSERM in Paris. These harsh actions from the scientific community would
eventually lead investigative researchers to consider if the Benviniste experiments had
actually damaged the reputation of the institution.
J. Benveniste’s research created a divide in the scientific community. Some scientists
continued forward with these experiments in the study of this phenomena discovered by
J. Benveniste. Based on scientific research findings they had also come to declare that
J. Benveniste work was ethical and warranted further investigative research. Contrary to
current knowledge and concepts, opposing scientific researchers would not accept the
results.
In 2014, 26 years has passed since the J. Benveniste publication in the Nature journal,
from which came the discovery phenomena journalists now call "Memory of Water”. The
time has come, to find out who is right.

In spite of hardships, Jacques Benveniste continued his research in a personal
laboratory. He had acquired an even stronger character and an iron willpower that
provided him footing to forge new pathways into his scientific research. He began new
experiments - a transmission of signals from biologically active substances through
communication lines.
Following Benveniste’s death in 2004, this direction of his charactered research is
continued and expanded upon by successors alike, resulting in the further affirmations of
the controversial experiments.
Based on J. Benveniste observations; the effects of “Ultra-High Dilutions”
were abolished by magnetic fields. He suggested that the signaling of EM
waves are potentially transmittable to cells and water by electromagnetic
means.
In 1991 Benveniste implemented the Electronic
Transmission of “Informational Copies” (IC) of
biologically active substances (BAS) to water.

Confirmation of the Phenomena
Electromagnetic Information Transfer of Specific Molecular Signals
Existing scientific research in these subjects has lead us to the further inquiry
and support of an outstanding French scientist by the name of Jacques
Benveniste – a scientist, who challenged the dogma of modern thinking, and
should be given a fair historical assessment.
THUS, THE PRINCIPLE OF ELECTRONIC
TRANSMISSION OF BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY OF
SPECIFIC SUBSTANCES ON AQUEOUS SYSTEMS IS
CONFIRMED BY QUITE A FEW OF INDEPENDENT
RESEARCHERS.
Brian Josephson, Nobel Laureate for Physics in 1973 invited Benveniste to the
Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge.
Josephson was quoted: ‘We invited him to learn more about the research which
seems both scientifically interesting and potentially of considerable practical
importance. Jacques definitely recognized there was a problem with reproducing
the effect. The situation seemed to be that in some circumstances you had
reproduction and in others you didn’t; but the overall results were highly
significant.’
Brian Josephson had also made a point that many scientists have a "pathological
disbelief" in certain subjects that ultimately create an unhealthy and unscientific
attitude, thus creating blocks from real truth and real science. Skepticism is at its
best when its advocates do not undermine the conversation of the subject at hand;
but instead, explore all possible ways (conventional and non-conventional) to
understand and verify strange but compelling phenomena. We all have this
challenge as we explore and evaluate the biological and clinical effects of
homeopathic medicines.

A recent interview in the journal Science, Luc Montagnier (Nobel Laureate in
2008 for discovering the AIDS virus) expressed real concern about the
unscientific atmosphere that presently exists on certain unconventional
subjects.
"I am told that some people have reproduced Benveniste's results, but
they are afraid to publish it because of the intellectual terror from people
who don't understand it.“
Montagnier concluded the interview when asked if he is concerned that he is
drifting into pseudoscience, he replied adamantly: "No, because it's not
pseudoscience. It's not quackery. These are real phenomena which deserve
further study…For me Jacques Benveniste is a great researcher, as you
pointed out, and it's really scandalous the way he was treated. He died, as you
know, in 2004, we can say exhausted by all that struggling and I believe that
one day soon, he will be completely rehabilitated. I think it is a matter as
important as the Galileo affair.”

Prof. Wei Hsueh, M.D., Chicago, Illinois, USA:
“…It was disaster after disaster.  Things turned upside down. Gradually, everything was
taken away from him: his budget, his staff, and finally his lab.  Till today I can’t understand
how come the scientific community in France and in the world turned a completely
deaf ear to the success of his subsequent experiments that confirmed the earlier
results of the Nature paper? The study, as you all know, was performed in collaboration
with none other than Dr. Spira, a leading statistician in France, and the data were
supported by impeccable statistical analysis.
When I met Jacques again in a meeting a few years later, I thought he would have looked
defeated and dejected. I was certain that he would give up his unorthodox research, and
return to the main stream. It was quite the contrary. Jacques appeared highly spirited, and
told me that he had launched a new research project using electronically transmitted
signals to stimulate human neutrophils…
…This peculiar discovery may sound something of only casual interest for the curious, but
if you think about it carefully, you’ll realize that its potential impact is enormous…
…Most importantly, this discovery changed our entire traditional concept about
biology…”

medicine, experimentally confirm the existence of the
phenomena discovered by Jacques Benveniste.
The damaging bureaucracy of academic peer review along with academic funding agencies should show support for
research in unfashionable fields. Support for research that might lead to advanced major scientific discoveries is virtually
forbidden nowadays. We call upon funding agencies to support sustained, open-ended research in unfashionable fields:

Jacques Benveniste - A TRUE LEGEND AMONG MYTHS

  • 1. Jacques Benveniste A TRUE LEGEND AMONG MYTHS The preservation of an outstanding French scientist and his research
  • 2. Outstanding French scientist Jacques Benveniste (1935-2004) - author of over 300 scientific articles on medicine related to the area of molecular biology, was known as a successful researcher who discovered a new, important lipid mediator. According to colleagues, Benveniste was a potential Nobel Prize candidate for his research discoveries. Approaching the peak of success, Jacques Benveniste unexpectedly departed from the conventional scientific arena in order to concentrate on less traditional forms of research. In 1998, the authoritative London weekly scientific journal Nature published his article with co-authors Davenas, E., Beauvais, F., Amara, J., Oberbaum, M., Robvizon, B., Miadonna, A., Tedeschi, A., Pomeranz, B., Fortner, P., Belon, P., Sainte- Laudy, J., Poitevin, B. & Benveniste, J., Titled: Human basophil degranulation triggered by very dilute antiserum against IgE. Nature, 333, 816-818. The published article had presented astounding results from Benveniste unconventional research. The controversial article caused heated debates amongst the prevailing scientific dogma in physics, chemistry and biology. The inability to consistently repeat his experiments resulted in Jacques Benveniste being rejected by the scientific community, deprived of laboratory accesses and dismissed from the INSERM in Paris. These harsh actions from the scientific community would eventually lead investigative researchers to consider if the Benviniste experiments had actually damaged the reputation of the institution.
  • 3. J. Benveniste’s research created a divide in the scientific community. Some scientists continued forward with these experiments in the study of this phenomena discovered by J. Benveniste. Based on scientific research findings they had also come to declare that J. Benveniste work was ethical and warranted further investigative research. Contrary to current knowledge and concepts, opposing scientific researchers would not accept the results. In 2014, 26 years has passed since the J. Benveniste publication in the Nature journal, from which came the discovery phenomena journalists now call "Memory of Water”. The time has come, to find out who is right.
  • 4. Confirmation of the Benveniste Results with High Dilutions by independent research • Belon P, Cumps J, Ennis M, Mannaioni PF, Sainte-Laudy J, Roberfroid M, et al. Inhibition of human basophil degranulation by successive histamine dilutions: results of a European multi-centre trial. Inflamm Res 1999; 48: S17–8. • Brown V, Ennis M. Inflamm res 2004; 53:181-188. + several other studies of the same and other authors.
  • 5. In spite of hardships, Jacques Benveniste continued his research in a personal laboratory. He had acquired an even stronger character and an iron willpower that provided him footing to forge new pathways into his scientific research. He began new experiments - a transmission of signals from biologically active substances through communication lines. Following Benveniste’s death in 2004, this direction of his charactered research is continued and expanded upon by successors alike, resulting in the further affirmations of the controversial experiments.
  • 6. Based on J. Benveniste observations; the effects of “Ultra-High Dilutions” were abolished by magnetic fields. He suggested that the signaling of EM waves are potentially transmittable to cells and water by electromagnetic means. In 1991 Benveniste implemented the Electronic Transmission of “Informational Copies” (IC) of biologically active substances (BAS) to water.
  • 7. The Principle Scheme was that of a device for Electronic Transmission of IC of BAS Output coil Input coil Solution of BAS Amplifier (oscillator) Water (IC of BAS). Output coil Input coil Solution of BAS Amplifier (oscillator) Water (informational copy of BAS)
  • 8. “…normal human neutrophils reacted to PMA transmitted via an electronic oscillator by reducing cytochrome c as though they had been directly exposed to PMA. This phenomenon was not observed when the oscillator was turned off…, when protein kinase inhibitors were added to neutrophils…, when active PMA in the input solution was substituted by its inactive analogue The results of 10 independent blind experiments Transmitted PMA Transmitted vehicle” The results of 10 independent blind experiments Transmitted PMA Transmitted vehicle
  • 9. IC of acetylcholine, histamine, ovalbumin and other BAS had been transmitted to distant addressees using communication networks including Internet J. Benveniste, P. Jurgens, W. Hsueh, J. • 11. Existing scientific research in these subjects has lead us to the further inquiry and support of an outstanding French scientist by the name of Jacques Benveniste – a scientist, who challenged the dogma of modern thinking, and should be given a fair historical assessment. THUS, THE PRINCIPLE OF ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION OF BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY OF SPECIFIC SUBSTANCES ON AQUEOUS SYSTEMS IS CONFIRMED BY QUITE A FEW OF INDEPENDENT RESEARCHERS.
  • 12. Brian Josephson, Nobel Laureate for Physics in 1973 invited Benveniste to the Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge. Josephson was quoted: ‘We invited him to learn more about the research which seems both scientifically interesting and potentially of considerable practical importance. Jacques definitely recognized there was a problem with reproducing the effect. The situation seemed to be that in some circumstances you had reproduction and in others you didn’t; but the overall results were highly significant.’ Brian Josephson had also made a point that many scientists have a "pathological disbelief" in certain subjects that ultimately create an unhealthy and unscientific attitude, thus creating blocks from real truth and real science. Skepticism is at its best when its advocates do not undermine the conversation of the subject at hand; but instead, explore all possible ways (conventional and non-conventional) to understand and verify strange but compelling phenomena. We all have this challenge as we explore and evaluate the biological and clinical effects of homeopathic medicines. Support from Brian Josephson Yolene Thomas. The history of the Memory of Water. Homeopathy (2007) 96, 151–157 Article of Dana Ullman. Evidence Based HomeopathLinks:
  • 13. A recent interview in the journal Science, Luc Montagnier (Nobel Laureate in 2008 for discovering the AIDS virus) expressed real concern about the unscientific atmosphere that presently exists on certain unconventional subjects. "I am told that some people have reproduced Benveniste's results, but they are afraid to publish it because of the intellectual terror from people who don't understand it.“ Montagnier concluded the interview when asked if he is concerned that he is drifting into pseudoscience, he replied adamantly: "No, because it's not pseudoscience. It's not quackery. These are real phenomena which deserve further study…For me Jacques Benveniste is a great researcher, as you pointed out, and it's really scandalous the way he was treated. He died, as you know, in 2004, we can say exhausted by all that struggling and I believe that one day soon, he will be completely rehabilitated. I think it is a matter as important as the Galileo affair.” Support from Luc Montagnier Article of Dana Ullman. • 14. In memoriam Jacques Benveniste, Chicago, Illinois, USA, March 2005  Support from Wei Hsueh Link: Prof. Wei Hsueh, M.D., Chicago, Illinois, USA: “…It was disaster after disaster.  Things turned upside down. Gradually, everything was taken away from him: his budget, his staff, and finally his lab.  Till today I can’t understand how come the scientific community in France and in the world turned a completely deaf ear to the success of his subsequent experiments that confirmed the earlier results of the Nature paper? The study, as you all know, was performed in collaboration with none other than Dr. Spira, a leading statistician in France, and the data were supported by impeccable statistical analysis. When I met Jacques again in a meeting a few years later, I thought he would have looked defeated and dejected. I was certain that he would give up his unorthodox research, and return to the main stream. It was quite the contrary. Jacques appeared highly spirited, and told me that he had launched a new research project using electronically transmitted signals to stimulate human neutrophils… …This peculiar discovery may sound something of only casual interest for the curious, but if you think about it carefully, you’ll realize that its potential impact is enormous…  …Most importantly, this discovery changed our entire traditional concept about biology…”

  • 21. The above presented materials stand as a foundation for the justification of Jacques Benveniste and his research discoveries. The biological and physical properties of water, including the transfer of signals from biologically active substances are actual and attested. The implications of this natural phenomena have vast applications in multiple areas of human activity; and in particular, are already used in the fields of healthcare. The Outstanding French Scientist was far ahead of his time and has made one of the greatest scientific breakthroughs in recorded history. In the visage of our beloved science, the time is now upon us to restore justice by giving tribute to a man who has devoted himself wholeheartedly and suffered for his beliefs. Please join us in our righteous efforts by signing onto our international initiative group. Our main initiative is the restoration of the honest name Jacques Benveniste. For contacts: Anton Fedorenko, faa@phystech.edu Jeremy Pfeiffer, 369@svpwaterresearch.com A portion of materials for this presentation is provided by the web-site of: ASSOCIATION JACQUES BENVENISTE POUR LA RECHERCHE International initiative to restore honest name of Jacques Benveniste
