Nihilism is a philosophy that denies all existence and meaning. It involves a rejection of all religious and moral values. Historically, some revolutionary groups in 19th century Russia took on the label of "Nihilists" as they scorned tradition and authority. While Nietzsche is often seen as a philosophical nihilist, he actually believed in free will and art's ability to communicate free will. However, his views did have a basis in nihilism's view that reality is ultimately meaningless and existence is aimless suffering. A nihilistic view is that things like abortion, politics, religion, and immigration do not matter because reality does not truly exist.
