redeem your Registration
ID & password
Type your Registration ID and password
into these boxes. Make sure there are no
gaps. (please note that copying & pasting
can invalidate the ID and password!!)
Click Continue.
Step 2: Registration ID Association
Even if you have an existing username & password, you’ll still need a new
ScienceDirect account, so click Register Now
Even if you already have any kind of
ScienceDirect login, Athens or other
institutional account, ignore all of these
login links - this will be dealt with later.

If you don’t already have an Athens or other institutional ID associated with your e-
mail address, then you should be successfully registered and ready to proceed with
the installation and activation of the App.

3. If you do already have an Athens or other institutional ID associated with your e-mail
address…
…you will be asked if you want to edit this registration and change your e-mail
address.
Ignore Edit Registration and click Continue Registration every time you’re asked.
Continuing with the registration will not actually mess up your existing ScienceDirect
profile settings. It creates an extra profile for the mobile version of ScienceDirect.

4. Your existing profile settings will still be available, though they will not be copied
across to your mobile profile. When you log in to the ScienceDirect website with your
Athens/institutional login, you will be asked to choose which profile settings you want
to use:
