This document discusses the importance of emphasizing human values like respect and healthy relationships over external beauty in early education. It argues that promoting respect for individual values regardless of gender and seeking recognition of each person's unique contributions to society is urgent. The document also briefly mentions that the "gene of domestic work is not linked to X chromosome."

25th November, was the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
We can contribute to the development of our country if we change some attitudes or even if we only recognize male aggressive chauvinistic behaviors and try to modify them. Small individual actions contribute to obtain huge achievements.

Acording to the ICBF, in Bogotá, the biggest and most important city in Colombia, there was an increase of 7 percent in pregnancies in girls under 14 years old between 2007 and 2008.
Experts said that When those girls were interrogated they argued that they desired their babies, so what is happening?
In spite of the recent changes in Colombia that allow women to access to educational environments and democratic participation, women suffer disadvantages due to their restricted mobility because male chauvinism is highly discriminatory to restrict women only to the household level and deprives them of education and health facilities (in the whole sense).
In some cases, the entire women´s status has been shaped out of religious bigotry. If an examination of women’s economic and social opportunities is made, it is easily concluded that generally they are treated as inferior citizens.
The social set up is so iniquitous that even a highly qualified and well earning woman feels high degree of social insecurity. Enhancing women’s access to these opportunities is imperative for helping them out of deprived status and for fair satisfaction of their gender needs.
Macho expressions are so ingrained in Colombian culture that go unnoticed and have generated various paradigms that destroy the self-esteem of girls and adolescents who find motherhood AS an escape exit which promises them to give meaning to their “inferior, incomplete, unhappy and only created for men and children service lives”. Today I just want to show a little of our colombian situation regarding this problem.
Women obtained in Colombia rights as citizens in 1954, since then they can vote and participate in democracy. 55 years is a really short time if we think about the history of humanity, so we are still learning how to be “citizens”, how to participate and how to decide about our lives and the life of our community.
It was a long time under the exclusive decision power of men, a long time being obedient. Nowadays, we also have “power”, and it is possible to achieve important places in the society, as scientists, teachers, politicians, or whatever profession anciently exclusively masculine.
But if we examine meticulously our society, we can find strong differences in opportunities, and it is particularly conspicuous in Colombia.
It is very common to hear some popular pejorative expressions as:
• More touched than our national hymn. (más tocada que el himno nacional). To refer to a girl who had different sexual experiences. As if women were devaluated by sexual experiences…
• She changes her boyfriends as she changes her panties (cambia de novio como de calzones). That makes me think that it is more important to keep relationships even if they do not work than looking for wellbeing and harmony.
• When are you going to be settle down? (Cuando se piensa organizar). To ask about marriage or couple life together, as if single women were non organized…
This is the music hit in our coasts.
Another chauvinistic situation that contributes to the low self – esteem of our young girls is the over production of visual messages in mass media, that shows stereotypes of beauty.
The nearest example is our national beauty contest. The whole country was worried about the size of “Miss Valle”’S HIPS. I was watching tv while I was writing this speech, and it really inspirED me. How stupid are the attitudes of those girls and how stupid are we Colombians spending our time seeing and listening to this buffoonery.
It seems that the measure o the flesh were more important than our brain capacity, feelings and other values
Examining the opinion of different experts about reproductive health and social behaviors, the amazing increase in non-desired pregnancies in teenagers in Colombia has a relationship with a lack of affection in homes. So, I think that in this sense all of us are able to contribute to solve the problem.

But this is an issue that needs great care and reflection. It´s not only to hug and smile, but it´s also necessary to think about every phrase, every song, every gift we give to our daughters, nieces, other relatives or friends.
Have you ever noticed that in some homes parents give small brooms and mops to their daughters while robots and other electronic devices to their sons?
