Rixen Cableways GmbH provides information on the basics of their cableways in three pages. They specify dimensions for cableway segments including minimum lengths between 80 to 310 meters for long segments. Cableway systems can have between 4 to 6 pylons. Technical details note cableways can transport between 4 to 16 people simultaneously at speeds up to 58 km/h powered by 22 to 45 kW motors. Diagrams illustrate example cableway layouts and pylon anchoring.

Dimensions
On the following page you will find a basic layout.
Lengths of segments
A segment is defined as the distance between the individual pylons. Since we construct four
to six pylons cableways we have four to six segments (generally two long segments and two
to four short ones). Normally the obstacles are positioned on the long segments. If you want
to put obstacles on the shorter segments you need a certain distance between the pylons.
Lengths of long segments (A): 80 m – 310 m
Minimum lengths of short segments (B): 25 m
Minimum length of starting segment (C): 80 m
Minimum length of segment in front of the motor pylon (D): 45 m
Minimum length of segment for short obstacle (e.g. Kicker): 60 m
Minimum length of segment for long obstacle (e.g. Slider): 70 m
Length of running cable
All distances between the pylons are added up to
receive the total length of the cableway: 250 m – 1600 m
Angle of deflection
Possible angle (except motor pylon) (E): 85° - 130°
Angle at motor pylon (F): 90° or 120°
Recommended angle: 90°-120°
Safety distance (G)
Distance between the main cable and the shore
or another object in the water, like an island: 26 m
Water depth
It is the depth of the water in times of low water.
Water depth at the starting place: more than 1.5 m
Water depth near obstacles: more than 2 m
Water depth where pylons are positioned: less than 22 m
Minimum dimension of water body for a cableway
Minimum length (H): 130 m
Minimum width (I): 100 m

Technical Details
A 4 to 6 pylon system is possible
4 – 16 persons can ski at the same time (depends on size of cableway). The minimal
distance of the carriers with a speed of 30 km/h is 70 m.
22 - 45 kW motor
Energy consumption about 4 kW per wakeboarder (average about 24 kW in use)
Speed between 0 – 58 km/h
Height of cable above water is 8 -10,5 m
