What's New in Teams Calling, Meetings and Devices March 2024
100 Days of Awesome Series Premier
1. N
NARRATOR (V.O.): The production team of Esmerelda Imac and
Iolanthe Booke have brought you shows both beloved and daring,
beginning with the retro game show Hey, That’s My Llama! and
continuing through such monster hits as Stompy-Wave, Man Swap,
and, of course, Juggling With The Stars. Now, their most
innovative show ever is set to debut on BFTAF.
2. ESMERELDA IMAC: I’m really excited about this one. I think it’s
going to be our best show yet. It’s a really exciting concept, really
amazing.
IOLANTHE BOOKE: You might even say “really awesome.”
(Both laugh)
3. IOLANTHE: Now, the concept for this came from a super talented
ideas girl, Callista.
ESMERELDA: I’m sure people will remember Callista from the
old Boolprop, right?
IOLANTHE: If they don’t, they should. Really good at the ideas. I
wish I was as good as her. So she came up with the basic idea, and
then we said “Hey, this would make a really neat reality show!”
ESMERELDA: All the cool kids were doing one, and we didn’t
want to be left out. (laughs)
4. IOLANTHE: The basic idea is that we have this family, and
they’re living their life, right, but every night at midnight we call
them up and give them a task to complete. They have until
midnight the next day to complete the task. If they can do it, they
get a point.
ESMERELDA: If they can’t do it, they don’t get a point.
IOLANTHE: And of course, we’re going to be filming them the
whole time, to make sure they’re really complying with the rules.
But here’s the really fun part: there’s no way of knowing what task
they’re going to get. We have a whole list, and every day we’ll
select one at random.
5. ESMERELDA: But not everybody in the household has to
complete the task.
IOLANTHE: Oh no! Just somebody. And we have a good mix, so
it shouldn’t be too hard.
ESMERELDA: I’m really excited about this family. To start out
with, we’ve got a Sim of mystery.
IOLANTHE: An international Sim of mystery.
ESMERELDA: Right, the International Sim of Mystery Descartes
Tsvirkunov. How cool is that? Or should I say, how awesome?
IOLANTHE: Oh, very awesome, definitely. The man reeks of
Awesome.
6. IOLANTHE (V.O.): And then we’ve got his daughters. I
understand that Anastasia was quite the free spirit in Uni. It got her
into more than a few fights, too.
ESMERELDA (V.O.): Well, she’s Romance. And she inherited a
pretty hefty dose of Awesome.
IOLANTHE (V.O.): And with a history of snagging her twin
sister’s boyfriends. Or so I hear.
ESMERELDA (V.O.): That always makes for good television. Not
that we’re advocating any such thing, of course!
IOLANTHE (V.O.): Of course not.
7. ESMERELDA (V.O.): Now, Rebecca is the twin sister, and she
just got engaged to Pong Dennis.
IOLANTHE (V.O.): Pity, that. We could have filmed it.
ESMERELDA (V.O.): Always good for the ratings, engagements.
IOLANTHE (V.O.): And then weddings for sweeps week.
(Both laugh)
IOLANTHE (V.O.): Not that we’re forcing anything. But
Rebecca’s Popularity and also pretty Awesome. That’s good. That
could help them out quite a bit.
ESMERELDA (V.O.): Not to give anything away!
IOLANTHE (V.O.): Oh no. Mum’s the word.
8. ESMERELDA: And speaking of mums… Abbey Tsvirkunov is a
mysterious one. Heh, did you see what I did there? Because she’s
the mother, and mum’s the word? Like a pun?
IOLANTHE: I’m sure everybody got it. Abbey, though… she’s a
quiet one, but still waters run deep. I wouldn’t be at all taken aback
if she surprised everyone. Somehow I think she may be the one to
take advantage of the off-site rule.
ESMERELDA: Ohhhhh, the off-site rule!
9. ESMERELDA: If they spend more than three hours off the lot,
except for work or school, then they have to complete another task.
You’d think that would work to their disadvantage.
IOLANTHE: Except that if they manage to pull it off, they get both
points. Abbey is pretty shrewd, and I think she’ll be able to
calculate the advantages.
ESMERELDA: Because she’s Awesome?
IOLANTHE: Nearer Win than Awesome, maybe. Definitely out to
win at any rate.
10. ESMERELDA: And of course they win by scoring one hundred
points.
IOLANTHE: But not in many, many generations like you see so
much of. No, this is one hundred points in one hundred days.
ESMERELDA: It seems like it would be easy to lose. After all,
what if they get a bad task? Well, we thought of that, and so did
Callista, and there are a few opportunities for extra points. Really,
a clever family could get all hundred points very easily.
IOLANTHE: Or an Awesome one.
ESMERELDA: Or an Awesome one, right. And this family is
definitely Awesome. So for all of you at home, get ready for One
Hundred Days of Awesome!
12. Notes from esmeiolanthe
Descartes (Littledragon) Tsvirkunov and his family come from my story
Already in Progress, currently available in the Fictional Stories forum over at
Boolprop. Although they are moving to this thread, the original story is still
going strong. Check it out!
Esmerelda (or “Esme”) was my first computer, an iMac. Iolanthe was my
second computer, an iBook. They’re also the sources of my username. Neither
one of them is intended to be my Simself.
The 100 Days Challenge was created by Callista; I’ve tweaked the rules ever-
so-slightly since she didn’t mention school or work.
I hope this opening featurette was intriguing enough that I’ll see you next time.
Until then, Happy Simming!
