2. Where did the vikings come
from?
 The Vikings
came from
three countries
of Scandinavia:
Denmark,
Norway and
Sweden

3. What were the Vikings’ jobs?
 Most Viking men were
versatile handymen,
but some had special
skills. Women baked
bread. They made the
family's clothes. On the
farm, women milked
the cows and made
cheese.

4. What happened in 793?
 In793, 'Northmen' attacked the Christian
monastery at Lindisfarne in Northumbria, in
north-east England.

5. What did Vikings build? What did
Vikings build ships for?
 The Vikings built fast
ships for raiding and war.
The Vikings also had
slower passenger and
cargo ships called knorrs.
They built small boats for
fishing or short trips.

6. What did the Vikings trade with
other countries?
 They traded jewellery, silver, spices, silk,
wine, glass and pottery with Europe and Asia.
