2. Develop Killer Content
Content is king and this approach is also important for your Magento
ecommerce store.
-Add pages to the content management system
-Use well written, keyword-rich content
-How to videos are excellent to compliment product descriptions.
-Product reviews can also generate excellent content.
3. No follow links
It is important to have the search engines hitting your content pages and
not the login, cart and checkout pages of your Magento store.
-Stop linking to non-content pages.
-In your template file add a “no-follow” tag to those links.
4. Duplicate product pages
Sometimes your store will have duplicate product pages and most search
engines frown upon this. Magento has a module “Canonical ULR’s” that
will apply the canonical URL tag “rel=canonical”.
5. Unique product names & descriptions
Magento SEO product descriptions can be very helpful in your site rank.
Your products need to contain the search keywords. If you are uploading
multiple products using the names and descriptions as your suppliers,
you need to make sure they are unique to include the important
keywords. The same rules should goes for your Magento category names
and descriptions.
6. Use the meta data
I tell this to clients all the time, maximize the “meta data” feature within
Magento. I know it is a painful process but it is worth the effort.

You need to make sure that search engines can index your Magento site.
To do this click ‘System’ then go to ‘Configuration,’ “Design,’ “HTML
Heads’ and then change the ‘Default Robots’ setting to ‘Index, Follow.’
