4. Why our Trust wanted to
develop an app
MLE not universally loved, and can be difficult
to access.
Huge growth in the use of tablets and
smartphones over PCs.
We need to offer e-learning in the most
accessible way possible.
5. Choosing an app
Wanted to explore delivering
learning in bite-sized chunks.
tQuest is an additional part of a
system already in use, so the app
could be fairly small.
Started to author elearning when our Trust adopted Outlook for email and wanted to train all staff in its useUsed a product called Opus and ran it over our Intranet, sending information to a SQL databaseRealised that online learning was the way to goAvon, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire SHA together started using an LMS hosted by e2train (now Kallidus) in 2007Immediately became invaluable for delivering and recording training
Users are simply preferring other devices over a conventional PC
