Comex gold futures prices are modestly higher and hit another two-
week high in early U.S. trading. The bulls are having a very good week
as gold is poised to close at a technically bullish weekly high close on
Friday. June Comex gold last traded up $3.40 at $1,465.40 an ounce.
Spot gold was last quoted down $1.50 at $1,467.25. July Comex silver
last traded down $0.172 at $23.01 an ounce. The market place is
awaiting the latest reading on the growth rate of the U.S. economy, due
out morning. The first-quarter advance gross domestic product
estimate is seen coming in at a 3.2% annual growth rate, which follows
a paltry 0.4% growth rate in the fourth quarter of last year. The GDP
data could be a markets-mover in the immediate aftermath of its
release, if the figure does not meet market expectations.
