Missing real estate agent Beverly Carter: Arrest warrant for
suspect on the lam - Hartford Top News
Beverly Carter, 51, who works as a real estate agent in Arkansas, went missing after she was
supposed to meet someone to show a home on September 25th.on.aol.com
An arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect in the case of missing real estate agent Beverly
Carter. It is not known how Aaron M. Lewis, 33, was linked to the disappearance of Carter, but he is
wanted the kidnapping of the 49-year-old who went missing on Thursday after she went to show a
foreclosed home to a potential buyer and never returned from that appointment, according to CNN
News on Sept. 29.
Arrest
warrant issued in case of missing real estate agent Beverly Carter, who disappeared while showing a
home on Thursday. The arrest warrant is for a man who can not be located.Facebook
According to "Fox and Friends" live, police believed that Lewis lured Carter to this vacant house
under the ruse of being a prospective buyer, but how he knew her or if she was just randomly
chosen by the suspect is unknown. This bizarre case is every realtor's nightmare, meeting an
unknown prospective buyer in a vacant house with the possibility of things going very bad.
The son of Beverly Carter appeared on "Fox and Friends" live Monday morning Sept. 29 making a
plea for his mother's safe return. Carl Carter Jr. said that this man does not look familiar to the
family. The family is trying to figure out where this man might have known their mother from.
Carl Carter Jr. also said that text messages received from his mother's phone when she was first
reported missing were very bizarre to the family. At first the family was filled with joy thinking she
was alive, but then the messages don't sound at all like something she would write. Carl Jr. said they
want to find this man "who has taken his mom." He said to his mother if she was by chance listening
that she is his "first friend," his "rock" and he and the family will find her. "Be strong we will find
you," her son said in hopes that she was out there listening.
Just hours before the arrest warrant for Lewis was issued he was in a motor vehicle accident and
brought to the hospital with facial injuries. His car had hit a concrete barrier and he told police that
he was run off the road by another vehicle. Witnesses had a different take on the accident as he was
seen speeding and his car fishtailed before the accident, according to THV 11 Breaking News today.
He was given a citation for careless driving and failure to wear a seat belt. He was in the process of
getting a medical test at Baptist Hospital where he was transported after the accident when he just
up and left. He has not since been seen. This is very frustrating to police who knew where he was,
but now he's gone and he cannot be located.
Lt. Carl Minden of Pulaski County Sheriff's Office said, "They (police) feel frustrated he left.
Obviously it's not something we can control. If someone is not under arrest, and we go into a
hospital, we're just not allowed to go back there," explained Minden. "But, yeah, it is frustrating to
know that you knew where he was, and you just didn't have an arrest warrant for him at that time."
Apparently Lewis was a "person of interest" before he went to the hospital, but the arrest warrant
wasn't secured until later on that day. Police do believe that Lewis "holds the keys" to finding the
missing real estate agent.
Lewis is considered extremely dangerous and police are warning the public not to approach him if
he is seen. He has an extensive arrest record in three states and he is currently out on "supervised
parole" until 2016, reports "Fox and Friends" live on Monday morning. Lewis's face was cut and
banged up in the accident, so this is one way to identify him today.
Beverly Carter went to show a house on Thursday and when she didn't return, her husband, who
knew where she was going, went to the house and found his wife's car parked in the driveway. In the
car was her purse and wallet with no sign of his wife. He also said the house was left wide open. Carl
Carter said he knew then something was very wrong and he called the police.
In the early hours of Friday morning, at about 1 a.m., Carl Carter received three bizarre text
messages from his wife's cell phone back to back. One said just "Yes..." the next said "My phone's
low. The battery's down, and I'll call you whenever I get a signal!" With the final text saying "Oh, I'm
out drinking with some friends." Carl Carter said his wife is not a drinker and these text messages
did not sound like her at all.
Police have asked people within the area who own large parcels of land, wooded, fields and
farmland, to walk their land and search it. They are asked to report anything they find that might
have something to do with Beverly Carter's disappearance, like tire tracks in a rural area.
Carter was wearing a black sleeveless shirt and red shorts when she went missing. She is described
as about five-feet-two-inches tall and weighing about 145-pounds with green eyes and blond hair. A
Facebook page for the missing real estate agent "Find Beverly Carter" has gotten a lot of interest
especially from other real estate agents stressing the dangers of the job and meeting potential
buyers alone in vacant properties.
While Beverly always let someone know where she was going and about what time to expect her
return, apparently more needs to be done. One real estate agent wrote about the "Buddy System" to
pair up with another agent and go to showings of vacant properties together. That isn't always
possible, wrote another Facebook commenter.
Beverly was showing a property at 14202 Old River Drive in Scott, Arkansas on Thursday evening
and she never returned home.
