On Nov 4, 2011 I gave a keynote address to 300 middle schoolers in my hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana as part of the Imagine Conference. The theme of the conference was building bridges of tolerance & understanding through digital expression. After learning more about their own use of digital tools, I shared with them my story of starting with youth journalism in Indiana, and going on to do projects with young people all over the world. After seeing photos taken by young people in many different countries, the students asked me thoughtful questions about my work internationally and with students here in the United States.
