16. LEARNER COMMENT
“I read through the above article and thought “that’s
interesting” then I read the comments below, particularly
the discussion of niches, and suddenly thought a whole lot
more. Not wishing to knock the OU in anyway because
their content is excellent but it’s almost as if the basic
course is in 2D but the postings lift it to 3D and really make
it come alive.”

We’re delighted by the support we’re getting from the university sector in the UK, and proud of the quality of institutions we’ve brought on board to date
We’re also hoping to announce several more partners soon – including Liverpool, Newcastle and Auckland.
With your help, we’re confident that we can also bring in several more international partners to broaden our global appeal
We’re working with our three non-university partners to work out how we can release their materials to our universities
We think that, on behalf of the FL consortium, we can do a lot to negotiate access on behalf of universities
Preliminary discussions with the BBC are also underway, and we hope to have an announcement ready on that soon
And we have a variety of different corporates, cultural and content bodies we are working with
We’ve got 8 courses running in the remainder of 2013, including computer science, psychology… … dentistry and marketing
We’ve also got another 12 courses lined up ready to go in 2014, and will be working with universities to identify more.
Alpha 2 – Week 1. Two courses – OU Ecosystems and UEA Secret Power of Brands
A lot of our learners are also using mobile devices
We believe that, at launch, we will offer the best mobile experience of any MOOC provider, allowing us to make learning convenient and accessible any time, anywhere
