                SUMMARY
I found a page about Uchimura being seen by Danell Leyva, who is also one of
famous gymnast from United States. For Leyva, he is the best rival ever, so he is
very conscious of the Japanese gymnast. The writer of this article says that
Uchimura has no flaws, in other words, he has the tough tricks, elegance and
                precision.
It seems that he is respected as a special gymnast. German coach Andreas Hirsch
also said that “He’s in a different world.”
The expression about him is very funny and vivid! I like the scene of his landing.
I’m a big fan of him!

was full of hardships. He had many affairs with
women, and on most of his lifetime, he was a drug

                            thinking about in his lifetime.
                               On June 13, 1948 he committed double-suicide

Thomas Alva Edison is very famous because he invented over 1000 items and today’s
                               world doesn’t exist without him.

                               〈about his life〉
He was born in Ohio, America, on February 11, 1847.
He was last of the seven children of Samuel and Nancy Edison.
After he contracted scarlet fever, he had trouble with his both ears.
He was very, very curious child and he questioned anything and everything that most
people don’t care of. For example, he asked his English teacher “why ‘A’ is not
pronounced as ‘P (pi)’?” Because of his almost excessive curiosity, his teachers gave up to

He read so many books of various topics.

He often challenged himself in new jobs or new studies.

                     〈Who is he?〉
Mao Zedong is one of the most famous Chinese politicians. He worked hard all
his life to make an ideal society based on socialism and communism. However he
is sometimes criticized for his failure and sacrifice.

                     〈What he did --- Best 3〉
                     ① Founding People’s Republic of China (1949)
After WWⅡ ended and Japanese army withdrew from China, Nationalists and
Communists resumed the civil war and communists gradually became superior.
Finally, Mao announced the founding of People’s Republic of China and became
                     the State Chairman.

                     ② Cultural revolution (1966~1976)
A movement to exclude intellectuals because they might become bourgeois, the
opposite of communist. Chinese economy and culture were deeply damaged by
this and many people were killed.

                     ③ Great Leap Forward (1958~1960)
Spartacus Through this policy he tried to strengthen China’s agriculture and industry.

Zedong people starved and the policy failed. Therefore he resigned as the State Chairman.

Her real name is Marie Antonia Josepha Johanna Antoinette.

She was born in Austria on November 2nd 1755.

Her mother is Marie Theresa and she was her ninth child.

It is well-known that she said “Let them eat cakes” when
Austrian citizens couldn’t get some breads to eat because of
poverty. However, in actual fact, she didn’t say it. There’re
two possible explanations why this phrase was made. One is
that it was said by an aunt of Louis XIV. The other is that the
French word for cake, ‘gateau’ ,is pronounced very close to a
word which means a type of plain bread.

She was executed on October 16th 1793.
She is known as a lavish spender, but when the citizens
suffered from poverty, she didn’t spend money on repairing
the castle for herself, and didn’t let her children buy some
toys. She also contributed foods to poor children in the castle.

animation. He has run out of money because of business, but he wasn’t
afraid of failure. Then, he expanded his production thanks for help of
his brother. In 1928, he created one super star, Mickey Mouse, which
debuted in “Steamboat Willie”. After that, he released many animation
movies and created many famous characters. In 1955, his dream of
opening an amusement park came true as Disneyland Park. In 1961, he
founded a professional school of creative and arts for future talent. In
addition, he was noted the need of improving the quality of urban life in
America, so he planned Walt Disney World Resort, including The Magic
Kingdom Park and it was established after his death. It is safe to say that
Walt Disney was a hero of 20th century and we won’t be able to see such
                           a great man.

Murasaki Shikibu
I like “the tale of Genji.” And I think Murasaki Shikibu must be a great person. I heard her
real name may be Kaoruko Fujiwara and she may be born in 970 in major class.

First article is about the Tale of Genji that

About him
Chopin is one of the most famous pianists in the world. He was born in Poland,
1810. During his era, Poland was attacked by Russia. Many of polish people moved

music reflects the hearts of polish people, and he is called “a poet of piano”. He is
still the symbol of Poland and his music has been listened to by people all over the
world.

About his works
He started composing music since he was seven years old. His works are mainly
for the piano. One of the most famous and popular works of Chopin is the
“Revolutionary Etude”. In 1831, Poland was attacked by Russian army and received
a huge damage. Polish people started the November Uprising toward Russian
army, and it is this era when Chopin composed the “Revolutionary Etude”. The

                              Mao Zedong

I chose Mao Zedong(1893-1976) in Japanese “毛沢東” who was a politician ,
strategist of battle and thinker of the People‘s Republic of China. When he was a
child, he liked reading the story of heroes such as Wu-di(武帝) and studying
though his household was poor. But in 1911, when he was 18, a big revolution
called Xin-hai ge-ming which overthrew old-fashioned monarchy and then build
the Republic of China was started and Mao joined in this democratic movement,
being influenced by radical revolutionary idea. He also participated in war with
Japan and defeated Chiang Kai Shek who was a delegate of the nation party. After
this victory (this victory meant communism was legitimacy doctrine), he founded
People’s Republic of China in 1949
He then thought that if farm villages were wealthy, the power of nation would be
strengthen because it is good for country to go around provision over lower layer
and dissolve credibility to the government. And after he enforced the China
Communist Party, (CCP) in 1958, he and some politicians promoted revolution
called “'Great Leap Forward'” owing to it, farmers ,in many cases they were very
poor and had a problem of only date’s food, had to produce adequate foods. This
BBC policy looked impossible and failed in; many people were starved to death. In
1966, he started ‘Cultural Revolution’ because he aspired to regain his authority in
politics. In this revolution, he and his supporter called “Groups of Red Guards”
criticized traditional culture and destroyed many precious relics because they were
Asia symbol of the feudal system, owing to it, he wanted to pointed, but many people
Edu for opposed his radical action and after this, he lost his power.

☆Do you know him, and SEA SHEPHERD?

Paul Watson is the captain of SEA SHEPHERD(SS), which is the “extreme” marine
wildlife conservation organization. Its goal is to stop the slaughter of wild ocean
animals. They do anything to attain their objective. Many celebrities support them.
Many youngsters hope to join them. However, SS breaks the law. Though its goal
has a good point, then it won’t be allowed to do anything. Paul Watson is
charismatic leader of such a SS.

           ☆SEA SHEPARD and Japan

At Taiji, Wakayama :SEA SHEPHERD has tried to expose the hunting of dolphins.
Also, SS has interrupted the hunting.

I know SEA SHEPHERD also has a good view about wild marine animals. But I think

their way is wrong. Eating different animals like dolphins or whales, which is
    3
strange to other cultures, is the culture of Japan. If they think the Japanese culture
is wrong, they should discuss with us.

                  *About

He was a Russian composer. In early years, he sometimes
went to the concert with his parents. He was impressed by
                  music.
He was educated for a career as a civil servant. In 1849, he
entered low school. Actually, he was not interested in the
science of law, but he worked hard. In 1859, he entered the
Ministry of Justice. However, he hated the job and wanted to
                  devote himself to music.
In 1862, he enrolled at the Conservatory as part of its
premiere class. After the graduation, he was a professor of
composition at the Conservatory, composing his works.
Then he set about making ballet music. He scored ‘Swan
Lake’, ‘The Sleeping Beauty’ and ‘The Nutcracker.’ His fame
was known to all over the world. He died of cholera on
                  November 6, 1893

      biography *Stories behind the music

His music has a strong emotion, but his early works were
not so impressive. During the 1870s, Tchaikovsky began
YouTube communicating with the "Mighty Five" Russian composers—
Balakirev, Borodin, Mussorgsky, Korsakov, and César Cui. This
encounter made him change the attitude. Then, he composed the
Piano Concerto No. 1. It became his popular work and it is loved by
                  many people.

navigator, was born in Portugal. The
most popular thing about him is that
he found a marine route to India at the
end of the 15th century, which was entirely first thing for
                            European people in that time.
                         2. About his first voyage to India
When he departed from Portugal, he decided to go as
Columbus, who reached the continent of America and
                            assumed that was India, did.
After months of trip, he arrived at the Cape of Good
Hope, which is in the southernmost part of Africa, and
rounded it. That was first accomplishment for European
people. Going up to the eastern part of Africa, he had to
land at Mozambique (present name) because a lot of his
crew became ill. After that he crossed the Indian Ocean
                            and finally reached India.
When he came back to Portugal, the number of crew
was only 54 regardless of original number of 170. He had
                            a very hard voyage.
                         3. The significance of his voyage
The significance of his voyage is that he found a sea root
to India. Before that, people had to walk to go to India.
Thanks to that discovery, Portugal came to be able to get
biography spices easily, which were very expensive in Europe in that
time and this lead to the prosperity of Portugal and the
                            beginning of Age of Discovery.

1. About

Born into a privileged caste, he entered into university of Bombay and University
College London. During his student life, he inspired Hindu principles and
philosophy of other religion. After returned to India, he belonged to South African
firm. Facing racial biased ‘’Apartheid’’ during his 20 years life there, he tried to
fight segregation and founded a political movement, developing into his
theoretical non- violent belief. Throughout this movement, his fame was spread
out in India, gaining his political influence and finally he founded the Indian
National Congress. He also introduced a boycott of British goods and institutions
and disobedience. After the failure of this movement, he led a 250-mile march to
the sea, against the British, the ‘’dominating status in India’’, tax on a salt in India.
This resulted in Gandhi’s final goal of ‘’swaraj’’ which is the plan of complete
independence from Britain.

         Summary
Mozart was born on January 27, 1756 in Salzburg. Because his family loved
music, he was also attracted to music. He started composing when he was 5
years old. Moreover, when he was 6 years old, he traveled Europe to play the
piano and violin. This tour was a great success.
He toured Europe many times and he wrote a lot of music. In 1777, he left his
hometown Salzburg because he wanted to be more famous as a composer.
However, his trial was unsuccessful, so he came back to Salzburg. There he
received good opportunity to perform his opera.
Although he gained reputation and money, he didn’t save money. In addition
to the war, his life was very difficult.
         His compositions
          The magic flute
          K. 595 in B-flat
          Clarinet Concerto K. 622
         And so on.

One page of Ichiro

      About Ichiro Suzuki:
He is known as the best
      batter in the world. But
      when he was a high
      school player, he played
as a pettier. In Japan, he
      resulted outstanding
      results and decided to
      challenge himself to the
      major league. He
      resulted conspicuous
      results too in the U.S.
But he has one problem. It is that even if he hit and gets to base,
the following batter cannot hit and cannot get a chance. Before he
transferred himself to the New York Yankees, he couldn’t get the
feel of win. However it is the same now. This year the Yankees lost
for straight in the games of a regional tournament.

When the conference was held, he resulted this phrase: “I am going
from a team with the most losses to a team with the most wins.” But his
      expectation was betrayed.

I would like you to solve this question.
“ if you were Ichiro, what did you say after above comment?

Hosni Mubarak
      He is ex-president of Egypt.
He substantially ruled Egypt for over 30 years.

He miraculously survived the assassination of former
president Sadat, even he had been sitting next to him. After
that, he escaped at least six assassinations. In other words,
he is a man of luck.

Many citizens in Egypt demonstrated in order to turn him out
of his position, but he hesitated to resign.
He said he would turn over his powers to next president, but
      would remain president.
Citizens were offended to hear that, the demonstrations were
      accelerated.

In the end, he finally left his position and he and his two sons
were accused and Mubarak was sentenced to life
      imprisonment.

One page on Alphonse Mucha
                  Outline
Alphonse Maria Mucha is Czezh artist. He is one
of the leading painters of the Art Nouveau. Most
of his works featured beautiful women, elaborate
flower pattern and pale pastel color. He is not
only a painter, but also designer. He designed
                  costumes, stage decorations, jewellery, furniture,
                  posters, and calendars.

                  Biography
In 1860, he was born in Ivancice in Moravia. Moravia is today’s
region of the Czech Republic. After he worked as a scene
painter in Vienna, he studied in Munich and Paris sponsored by
Count Khuen-Belassi. In Paris, he started to work as a
illustrator. He happened to paint a poster for a play starring
Sarah Bernhardt, “Gismonda” around Christmas in 1894. Sarah
Bernhardt was satisfied with this poster and she contracted with
Mucha. This poster became popular and he also became a
famous and popular illustrator. At that time, the Art Nouveau
style started to flourish in France. Art Nouveau is French word and it
means New Art. He played an active role during the Art Nouveau
period, however, being a Czech and a Slav was in his thought. He
moved to America, but he returned to Prague to begin to create “Slav
Epic” in 1910. After World War Ⅰ, Czechoslovakia won its
independence in 1918. And then, Mucha designed new bills and
postage stamp for the sake of his fatherland. Until he ended his life
he lived in Prague since he moved to there. “Slav Epic”, a series of
paintings, completed and he presented them to Czech people and
Prague city in 1928. Now, we can see “Slav Epic” in Prague. In 1939,
Germans invaded Czechoslovakia and he was arrested by the

         1
Gestapo. Though he was released, this was hard on his health. Mucha
died on 14, July, 1939 and he buried in Vysehrad cemetery.

  • 2. One Page on Kohei Uchimura SUMMARY I found a page about Uchimura being seen by Danell Leyva, who is also one of famous gymnast from United States. For Leyva, he is the best rival ever, so he is very conscious of the Japanese gymnast. The writer of this article says that Uchimura has no flaws, in other words, he has the tough tricks, elegance and precision. It seems that he is respected as a special gymnast. German coach Andreas Hirsch also said that “He’s in a different world.” The expression about him is very funny and vivid! I like the scene of his landing. I’m a big fan of him! • 21. One Page on Marie Antoinette Her real name is Marie Antonia Josepha Johanna Antoinette. She was born in Austria on November 2nd 1755. Her mother is Marie Theresa and she was her ninth child. It is well-known that she said “Let them eat cakes” when Austrian citizens couldn’t get some breads to eat because of poverty. However, in actual fact, she didn’t say it. There’re two possible explanations why this phrase was made. One is that it was said by an aunt of Louis XIV. The other is that the French word for cake, ‘gateau’ ,is pronounced very close to a word which means a type of plain bread. She was executed on October 16th 1793. She is known as a lavish spender, but when the citizens suffered from poverty, she didn’t spend money on repairing the castle for herself, and didn’t let her children buy some toys.
