8. Multivariate Graph & Discussion According to the graph, almost 16% of the individuals and about 13% of the families living in Alabama in 2000 were earning annual incomes below the poverty level. In 2005 the numbers increased with 17% of individuals and almost 14% of families finding themselves below the poverty level. One should remember that children are affected in situations and households where the income level is not acceptable. Because the percentages are increasing this means that the economy can not sufficiently support Alabama families. One must also wonder if government aid is providing enough relief to those families affected.
