Certificate Ceremony at the Furama Resort
On Tuesday 7th August 2007 a ceremony was held in the Non Nuoc Room at the Furama Resort to present
Certificates of Completion to 40 Furama Resort staff who successfully completed a program of Communication
English training with the UD-UQ ELI. Attending the ceremony from the Furama Resort was Mr Duncan MacLean,
General Manager and Mr Nguyen Tan Vinh , Deputy General Manager, along with the 40 staff.
“Congratulations on your effort, your interest and your desire to learn a second language. Anyone who makes the
effort to be able to speak another language finds that a new world opens up to them, and it is always an exciting
one. As we say at the UD-UQ ELI, learning English opens doors, and it opens up opportunities.” Ms Roessler said at
the ceremony.
Mr Nguyen Thanh Long – representative for the staff - made a very impressive speech. “We’ve had a very good
impression with our professional teachers such as Mr Peter Morcom. We learnt not only about pronunciation and
how to communicate effectively in English but also about cross-cultural awareness. Danang City needs more and
more high quality and professional education institutes like the UD-UQ ELI.”

How I felt when I studied at the UD-UQ ELI
I have studied English for 10 years in many different
courses and at many different levels. Months ago I enrolled
in a 5-week English course at the UD-UQ ELI specializing in
IELTS/EAP at the Upper Intermediate level. This was the first
time I studied English in an English environment and I found
that it was the most precious time that I have had.
I was very impressed by the way the UD-UQ ELI welcomes
students. We were introduced to the course in which we
found out about the timetable, subjects, the way to use the
facilities and the rights and responsibilities of the students. I
Mr Thai Quoc Khanh at the do think that this is very necessary and thanks to this I
Certificate Ceremony oriented and prepared myself before officially entering the
course.
The second advantage is the modern facilities. It can be said that the UD-UQ ELI has the best equipment to
support students in studying English including multimedia rooms full of computers connected to the
Internet, a resource center with a variety of books, magazines, tapes and CDs and each classroom has
audio-visual equipment. Especially, the staff here are very willing to show us how to use these sources
effectively. My classmates and I really enjoyed every lesson during the course.
I also had an unforgettable time with the foreign teachers. I must say that they are very responsible
teachers and have very rich experiences and methods in teaching English but their enthusiasm made me
most impressed. I still remember the day that we had to hand in the draft of the essay but most of us had
not finished and some just had ideas in mind. I knew that the teacher was very surprised. However, how
tolerant was she to give us the extension. I feel that she has not only the virtue of a teacher but also the
virtue of a mother.
I believe that all of my friends were satisfied with the quality of teaching and learning at the UD-UQ ELI and
any future student will make substantial progress and be successful when choosing to study here.
“Friends of UD-UQ ELI” my hope after graduating from college
Nowadays, English is very popular and more and more people are
interested in learning it. To study English effectively, it is necessary
to find a place where you can rely on its quality. I think the
UD-UQ ELI meets the requirements of English learners who learn at
UD-UQ ELI, study with native teachers and use the modern facilities,
which help the learners study effectively.
As for me, as a “Friend of UD - UQ ELI”, I feel so glad because I have
the opportunity to practice my English more often. When I work here,
I learn many things about language skills and the way people work. Bich Tuyen (on the left)
Moreover, the staff are very helpful - they are always willing to help

IELTS – The best choice for those who want to study abroad
Nowadays, students who have finished high school have many options for their future. One of them is to go
abroad and further their education in internationally–recognized universities. What should be the first thing that
students do when they have the option of spending their university time in England, Australia, Canada, New
Zealand, USA etc...? IELTS is the recommended first step, as it is considered the essential requirement for those
who want to enter universities there.
So, how can students be successful in their IELTS exam? What should they equip themselves with before the
test? Although the IELTS exam is becoming more and more popular now in more than 120 countries with about
48 tests held every year, which gives you many choices for your preferred test date, it is still very difficult to
answer the two above questions satisfactorily. Besides, the IELTS scores which are required by many universities
are different.
The first thing you have to be aware of is the required scores for the university and course you want to enroll in.
Secondly, you should commit yourself to your IELTS exam preparation, which you have to follow strictly. Everyone
has their own studying strategies but a general recommendation is that you should seek advice from those who
have passed the IELTS with high scores. You are also advised to pace yourself with studying and concentrate fully
on your IELTS exam preparation, which will hopefully help you pass the exam with your expected scores.
Once you meet these challenges and have your IELTS score, you can then enroll for your chosen university
program and be confident about your studies.
The UD-UQ ELI wants to contribute to your success so we deliver IELTS exam preparation courses which are
updated frequently and delivered by our well-qualified and native – speaker teachers. Besides, the UD-UQ ELI is
also the first IELTS test administration centre in the Central Region of Vietnam, which can deliver two exams every
month.
If you really want to study in an internationally recognized university or want to immigrate to English-speaking
country, IELTS is always the best choice.
