Welcome to the training module on Brief Introduction to Telegesis Wireless Zigbee Module.
This training module will [ Introduce wireless module based on Zigbee Technology].
The Telegesis ETRX351 and ETRX357 modules are low power 2.4GHz ZigBee modules, based on the latest Ember EM351 and EM357 single chip ZigBeeTM / IEEE802.15.4 solutions. They have been designed to be integrated into any device without the need for RF experience and expertise. Utilizing the EmberZNet ZigBee stack, the ETRX35x enables to add powerful wireless networking capability to your products and quickly bring them to market.
This page gives in detail about the product approval for Telegesis ETRX3. It has FCC approval, Industry canada approval, European Certification (ETSI) approval
The ETRX3 series is the 3rd generation of advanced ZigBee modules from Telegesis and the first module family on the market to feature the EM357 and EM351- the latest ARM® Cortex M-3 SOC's from Ember. All Modules are preprogrammed with the Telegesis AT style command interpreter based on the EmberZNet stack. ETRX3 series modules have a footprint of just 19mm x 25mm for both standard and PA/LNA versions which represents a 40%reduction in size compared to the ETRX2 module.
The ETRX351, ETRX351HR, ETRX357 and ETRX357HR are based on the Ember EM351 and EM357 respectively. The EM351 and EM357 are fully integrated 2.4GHz ZigBee transceivers with a 32-bit ARM® Cortex M3TM microprocessor, flash and RAM memory, and peripherals. In addition to this a number of MAC functions are also implemented in hardware to help maintaining the strict timing requirements imposed by the ZigBee and IEEE 802.15.4 standards. The EM35x has fully integrated voltage regulators for both required 1.8V and 1.25V supply voltages. The voltages are monitored (brown-out detection) and the built in power-on-reset circuit eliminates the need for any external monitoring circuitry.
The main building blocks of the ETRX351 and ETRX357 are the single chip EM351 and EM357 SoCs from Ember. The EM351 and EM357 ZigBee chips from Ember are the industry's first ARM Cortex-M3 based family of SoCs delivering unmatched performance, power consumption and code density in a compact package. The EM351 and EM357 combine a 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.15.4 radio transceiver with a 32-bit microprocessor, Flash memory and RAM with powerful hardware supported network-level debugging features. This, combined with the powerful ecosystem of ARM tools, enables OEMs to simplify development and accelerate time to market.
This page shows the typical output power and module current in dependency on module EM35x power setting . Power settings above 3dBm have Boost Mode enabled. the output power is independent of the supply voltage as the radio is supplied by an internally regulated voltage.
The two Telegesis ETRX351-DVK and ETRX357-DVK development kits are an ideal starting point for development and evaluation of the ETRX351 and ETRX357 series low power 2.4GHz ZigBee modules.
The ETRX3DVK Development Kit has been designed to allow quick evaluation and prototyping using the ETRX3 wireless mesh networking modules. The Long Range modules will allow you to test their greater outdoor range and within-building penetration.
The EM357 SOC used in the ETRX3 is a fully integrated 2.4GHz IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee transceiver based on a 32bit ARM Cortex M-3 core which exceeds the dynamic range of requirements imposed by the 802.15.4 spec by over 15dB. The integrated 32-bit ARM Corex-M3 processor provides a very high code density allowing larger applications, while delivering exceptional performance in a small, power efficient RISC core. It can be used in broader application like smart energy application, wireless alarm security system, wireless sensor network, lighting and ventilation control, remote monitoring, etc.
