7. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION :
Occupational exposure standards : None established.
Engineering control measures : Use only in well-ventilated areas.

                                            protect worker health, select Respiratory
Protective Equipment suitable for the specific
conditions of use and meeting relevant
                                            legislation. Check with Respiratory Protective
                                            Equipment suppliers. Where air-filtering
                                            respirators are unsuitable (e.g. airborne
concentrations are high, risk of oxygen
                                            deficiency, confined space) use appropriate

air-filtering respirators are suitable, select an
appropriate combination of mask and filter,
Select a filter suitable for combined

Hand protection : Where hand contact with the product may
occur the use of gloves approved to relevant
                                            standards (e.g. Europe, EN 374, US F739)

                                            suitable chemical protection. Incidental
                                            contact/Splash protection PVC, neoprene, or
nitrile rubber gloves. Suitability and durability of
a glove is dependent on usage, e.g. frequency
and duration of contact, chemical resistance of
                                            glove material, glove thickness, dexterity.
Always seek advice from glove suppliers.
                                            Contaminated gloves should be replaced.
   Eye protection : Monogoggles
Body protection : Standard issue work clothes. Safety shoes or
                                            boots – chemical resistant.
Monitoring methods : Monitoring of the concentration of substance in
the breathing zone of workers or in the general
workplace may be required to confirm
compliance with an OEL and adequacy of
                                            exposure controls. For some substances
biological monitoring may also be appropriate.

Unsuitable extinguishing media : Water in a jet. Protective equipment : Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus. Other information : Keep adjacent containers cool by spraying with water. 5. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES : Personal precautions : Avoid contact with skin, eyes. Evacuate the area of all non-essential personnel. Shut off leaks, if possible without personal risk. Personal protection : Wear PVC gloves, gauntlet type, monogoggles, PVC one-piece suit with integral hood, Safety boots- rubber, knee length. For guidance on respiratory protection see Section B. Environmental precautions : Prevent contamination of soil and water. Prevent from spreading or entering into drains, ditches or rivers by using sand, earth, or other appropriate barriers. Clean-up methods-small spillage : Absorb or contain liquid with sand, earth or spill control material Shovel up and place in a labeled, sealable container for subsequent safe disposal. Put leaking containers in a labeled drum or over drum. Flush contaminated area with plenty of water. Clean-up methods-large spillage : Transfer to a labeled, sealable container for product recovery or safe disposal. Treat residues as for small spillage. 6. HANDLING AND STORAGE : Handling : Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with:-skin and eyes. Avoid breathing fumes or vapors from heated product. Handling temperatures : Ambient. Storage : Keep container tightly closed and dry. Storage temperatures : Ambient. Recommended materials : For containers, use: mild steel, stainless steel.
  • 3. PAGE 3 OF 6 SAFETY DATA SHEET 7. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION : Occupational exposure standards : None established. Engineering control measures : Use only in well-ventilated areas. Respiratory protection : If engineering controls do not maintain airborne concentrations to a level which is adequate to protect worker health, select Respiratory Protective Equipment suitable for the specific conditions of use and meeting relevant legislation. Check with Respiratory Protective Equipment suppliers. Where air-filtering respirators are unsuitable (e.g. airborne concentrations are high, risk of oxygen deficiency, confined space) use appropriate positive pressure Breathing Apparatus. Where air-filtering respirators are suitable, select an appropriate combination of mask and filter, Select a filter suitable for combined particulate/organic gases and vapors ( boiling point > 650C (149 F) meeting EN 141. Hand protection : Where hand contact with the product may occur the use of gloves approved to relevant standards (e.g. Europe, EN 374, US F739) made from the following materials may provide suitable chemical protection. Incidental contact/Splash protection PVC, neoprene, or nitrile rubber gloves. Suitability and durability of a glove is dependent on usage, e.g. frequency and duration of contact, chemical resistance of glove material, glove thickness, dexterity. Always seek advice from glove suppliers. Contaminated gloves should be replaced. Eye protection : Monogoggles Body protection : Standard issue work clothes. Safety shoes or boots – chemical resistant. Monitoring methods : Monitoring of the concentration of substance in the breathing zone of workers or in the general workplace may be required to confirm compliance with an OEL and adequacy of exposure controls. For some substances biological monitoring may also be appropriate. Examples of sources of recommended air monitoring methods are given below. Further national methods may be available. National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), USA, Manual of analytical Methods.
