11 Sometimes Proctor goes too fast through the slides on the Powerpoint and it's difficult to take notes if there is anything
that I want to write down. I feel too awkward to ask you to go back but going slower on the Powerpoint would be

1 Sometimes it is still unclear why points are taken off on the FRQs. Maybe it would be nice to spend a little time in
class going over exactly how to answer the FRQs so that we know how to get the maximum number of points. This
could include analyzing the prompts of questions and learning what is necessary or not necessary

2 I wish I was able to keep my tests or look them over more than I do because I can know I didn't use a term correctly,

1 So far, we have only had one grade besides tests. It would be nice to have more graded assignments, like the one
where we created our own experiment, so that if we are not particularly good at testing or we bombed a test, we have
ways to compensate for that.

2 This class is different from the others that I am taking because my grade primarily depends on unit test grades, but
this is not necessarily bad in that it forces me to review material properly and makes me aware of underlying issues

2 My favorite thing about this class is the teacher. Proctor may be new to the school as of last year but is one of the best
teachers I have ever been fortunate enough to learn from. Not only is he enthusiastic about the material but he
employs a variety of techniques from videos, lecture, activities and class discussion to help teach the content to many
different learners. Class is never boring and I am always engaged in my learning. Despite the strenuous course load
of being an AP I truly enjoy the class and the content that is being taught. I feel respected and cared for as an
individual student and truly feel as if Proctor has a vested interest in my success in the class. Proctor is one of the
most understanding teachers in the school of the stress and heavy workload placed on students and his ability to be
flexible with test dates have prevented many meltdowns in an already stressful year. Proctor is one of the best
teachers MICDS has ever had and should be a model for future teachers employed by the school.

4 It is a class like no other. All this information is completely new (except for some common knowledge stuff) and enjoy
being in a class where everyone is at an equal level, all learning this new information together. I enjoy how the course
includes a variety of sub topics so even if you hate the class one week, you may love it the next. It has definitely taught
me that this may be something I want to continue pursuing in college that I would have never acknowledged
otherwise.

2 I spend roughly one hour reading each module and taking notes and so nights when there are two modules due, it is
usually about two hours. I tend to spend about 4 hours total reviewing for tests, doing practice problems and practice
FRQs. I also spend about 30 minutes each night going over the notes for the next days class. I think the teaching
methods are incredibly helpful but feel I could benefit from a little bit more lecture over the content. I really enjoy the
class activities and discussions and find them incredibly helpful for breaking up class as well as better understanding
the material but sometimes feel a little uncertain on the content and would like a little more lecture.

3 1. I spend about 30-45 minutes just reading the modules without taking notes. I spend more time studying, probably
30-60 minutes a night for about a week. 2. I love the question generating and the snowball. supplemental readings are
interesting. Personally, I think I would like to see a little more structure in class. it is hard when only some things are
explained in the reading and others are completely left out. But at the same time, I love the relaxed environment and
how we get to share personal stories or do fun activities that keep me engaged. I think for the more science units, like
the brain or the eye sight, it would be helpful to watch videos explaining it because it is easier to understand that way
than through reading. Having the practice multiple choice is very helpful as well.

4 1. I spend about an hour and a half on homework a night. On nights before tests I definitely spend more time. I would
suggest not giving two modules at the same time. I understand there is a lot to cover in a short amount of time but
maybe using class time to read a module together (read out loud) or start individual homework would be helpful. 2. I
have enjoyed all of the new activities you try...although the snowball activity can feel awkward if you aren't sure your
answer is correct and then someone asked a question or comment about yours. The classes when we do a little
activity are very important because it is hard to focus for an hour and a half without doing something other than
listening to a lecture.

5 I spend probably 45 minutes a night in note taking, reading, and studying all combined, sometimes more than that but
not usually. These techniques work well, usually I end up better understanding a topic but for me I get really anxious
when any of my answers are being put up in front of the class and then I have to explain them. I prefer the question
activity because I can ask my question and figure it out but I don't like having to have my answers read out loud,
especially if they aren't 100% correct.

6 I do not spend nearly as much time as I should. I often procrastinate readings because I let other things take
president. Not to say that I don't enjoy the class or that I put it off because I don't want to do it. The readings are just
lengthy and I often see more benefit in doing the homework that is due the next day or next period over something I
won't be tested on for weeks.

7 1. I spend anywhere from an hour to three hours each night on the reading, questions, notes, note cards, and testing
myself. It takes me a long time to complete all of these steps. 2. I really liked the snowball thing because it got me up
and moving in the middle of class. My other teacher actually had us all stand up in the middle of class the other day
and get into a circle and walk around the room. It was a silly thing, but it got the blood to flow back into my legs and
just helped my energy in general. I also like the "question-generating" activity because it is a different way of testing
myself over the material.

8 1. I probably spend one to two hours on the coursework outside of class. 2. I really enjoyed the snowball activity
because I feel that it increases my understanding of the topic. Also, I feel that an occasional reading quiz that is
formative would be helpful so that we are able to understand what we are confused about from the reading.

9 On the homefun I usually spend approximately 15-30 minutes depending on how long the section. However, for
studying I usually spend approximately 2-3 hours total. I liked the snowball activity, I thought it provided an opportunity
to get class feedback on our writing and responses. In addition, when we would read other people's responses it
allowed us to think of the issue in a different way and gain further knowledge. Throughout the unit providing some
graded homework or class grades would be helpful in assessing us and our understanding outside of testing because
testing only allows so much of our knowledge to be seen.

10 I spend a fair amount of time on psych, the textbook reading can be kind of a lot even though it is only a couple of
pages, there is a lot of information and taking notes and highlighting requires more effort As far as improvement, I
would say that we focus class time a lot on the big ideas but then on the tests there are some very detailed questions
that are then hard to answer. I do like how the class feels like a reverse classroom set up where we teach ourselves
by doing the reading and then come to class to watch a movie or do an activity because I feel like that helps me
personally have a deeper knowledge and be able to remember whatever it is we are learning better. I think a lot of
times the tests are too hard, I know everyone thinks tests are always too hard but I think that especially since they are
worth so many points and making corrections is not an option, they seem to test the large amount of topics on a super
detailed level.

11 1. For psychology, I usually spend about 30 minutes. Sometimes more (like the night before a test), and sometimes
less, but 30 is pretty average for reading and looking over the powerpoint. 2. I really enjoyed these activities. Not only
did they help me with understanding the content, they also added variety to the course and were fun to complete. I
believe that we should continue to do activities like this in the future because they are fun and helpful.

12 I spend 20-35 minutes a night doing homefun or studying for this class so it is very manageable. I enjoy the formative
activities because they are a great break from lecture based classes. however, sometimes I struggle to connect the
activities to the questions asked on the test. The formative information is helpful, but I feel it does not connect to the
content given on tests. Creating engaging activities that tie into graded activities better would be something that I
would greatly appreciate.

13 1. Homefun doesn't take long, maybe half an hour. Studying for the test probably takes 1-2 hours but with that study
time I am usually well prepared. 2. I do generally like the techniques implemented to teach the class as I think, like i
said earlier, that they are helpful and fun. The only slight criticism is that there are some that might force people to
share their responses who maybe didn't want to, but that might not necessarily be a bad thing. I think the techniques
are overall helpful because they help us understand the real world application of the concepts we are learning which is
important and should be implemented in more classes.

14 I probably spend around an hour max. This is depending upon if there is a test coming up and if I am not fully
comprehending the material. I believe that these techniques are very effective. Activities keep the class interesting and
don't allow for people to become bored while note taking. I believe they also help us learn because we are attacking
the information in a new fun way. I know personally that these activities have helped me to better comprehend the
information especially when we did the sharing of PA's.

17 1. I spend around 30 min a night doing my homefun! 2. I really like the snowball technique because it was fun and it
allows you to read people's ideas that you are not necessarily friends with. When we do class activities such as the
(how fast a neuron impulse travels) it was super cool how we did that and it was a fun way to learn the term. I really
enjoy how we do not have quizzes in the class because it alleviates the stress from reading each module with 100%
focus every single day, but I think we should have more labs, presentations, or graded homework which would help
our chances in case we didn't do as well on a test as we expected.

do activities to further our knowledge about the reading in class. It is helpful in forming PAs during our second
readings of the text (before the test) and I love that we apply what we learned to everyday life. I feel that the formative
assignments and activities in class motivate us to come to class more prepared every day and are a more efficient use
of our time than simply re-reading the textbook information. I've never been in a class like this and I wish that all my
classes were structured like this.

concept. For studying, I probably spend a minimum of 6 hours studying it (spread out of course) 2. I really like the
techniques you've been using because they aren't just fun, but they really do help me understand the material much
better. I haven't really experienced anything yet that isn't effective. Keep doing what you're doing! :)

22 On average I spend about 1.5 hours on psych a night, but this amounts increases significantly when it comes to
studying for tests. The activities we do in this class are the most helpful thing in the entire class. Not only are they
always fun and interesting, but they are a way to apply the information to our lives, which makes it so much easier to
remember. On every test, I have remembered and applied an activity we did in the class to a concept, which is nice.
It's also much more fun doing activities rather than being lectured at all day everyday.

26 Before tests, I usually spend up to 3 to 4 hours studying, going over my notes, doing practice problems, and reviewing
topics I don't know. For homework, I usually spend about an hour or an hour and a half for reading the modules.
Personally, I feel that I am not learning anything new in class that I didn't already get from reading the module. We are
given the powerpoints to utilize when reading the modules at home, and we just go over basically the textbook, and I
feel like I don't learn anything new. I like the little activities we do in class, but I still don't think they work for me. They
are fun, but I don't get anything out of them academically.

for studying in the past. I do think we should have quizzes after each module like APES does because I does help us
understand what we were supposed to be getting from the reading, and it would also be helpful to have some more
things in the grade book to balance out the one bad test grade.

29 1.- i would say i spend about an hour or two a day if you add up all the times during the day that i work on psych . 2.- i
really do like the activities a lot. i feel like we should definitely do more activities and maybe even more lecturing
because even though we do the readings i feel like we don't really go over the material enough. I think more formative
activities and worksheets in class would help to make sure that we grasp the idea before we are tested on it.

1 My entire page got reset cause I didn't finish in class and switched wifi networks, so nothing saved. I dont remember
everything I said, but one of my big comments is that its hard to keep up with everything cause I have a lot of other
classes to deal with as well, and can't always spend a ton of time on this class. Because of that, its more helpful to
have test corrections, instead of formative assessments because the formative assessments just kind of tell me what I
already know, that I'm behind. Test corrections would be way more helpful in boosting my grade, especially since in
this class there arent daily quizzes like APES had, so the tests count for way more.

2 I understand the concept behind having majority of points be tests and not be able to do corrections since that's how
college is but I think the class should be one or the other a. all points come from unit tests but you can correct FRQ's
to make sure you understand the question fully to prepare for the final exam b. some of the class points come from
tests but we also have graded hw assignments and activities and multiple choice quizzes so that you have more of an
opportunity to change your grade

Proctor may be new to the school as of last year but is one of the best teachers I have ever been fortunate enough to learn from. Not only is he enthusiastic about the material but he employs a variety of techniques from videos, lecture, activities and class discussion to help teach the content to many different learners. Class is never boring and I am always engaged in my learning. Despite the strenuous course load of being an AP I truly enjoy the class and the content that is being taught. I feel respected and cared for as an individual student and truly feel as if Proctor has a vested interest in my success in the class. Proctor is one of the most understanding teachers in the school of the stress and heavy workload placed on students and his ability to be flexible with test dates have prevented many meltdowns in an already stressful year. The formative assessments are helpful cause they help me associate things with activities and remember things. I tend to spend about 4 hours total reviewing for tests, doing practice problems and practice FRQs. I also spend about 30 minutes each night going over the notes for the next days class. I think the teaching methods are incredibly helpful but feel I could benefit from a little bit more lecture over the content. I really enjoy the class activities and discussions and find them incredibly helpful for breaking up class as well as better understanding the material but sometimes feel a little uncertain on the content and would like a little more lecture. 10/20/2016 5:01 PM 3 1. I love the question generating and the snowball. supplemental readings are interesting. Personally, I think I would like to see a little more structure in class. it is hard when only some things are explained in the reading and others are completely left out. But at the same time, I love the relaxed environment and how we get to share personal stories or do fun activities that keep me engaged. I think for the more science units, like the brain or the eye sight, it would be helpful to watch videos explaining it because it is easier to understand that way than through reading. I would suggest not giving two modules at the same time. I have enjoyed all of the new activities you try...although the snowball activity can feel awkward if you aren't sure your answer is correct and then someone asked a question or comment about yours. The readings are just lengthy and I often see more benefit in doing the homework that is due the next day or next period over something I won't be tested on for weeks. 10/20/2016 1:48 PM 7 1. I spend anywhere from an hour to three hours each night on the reading, questions, notes, note cards, and testing myself. It takes me a long time to complete all of these steps. 2. I really liked the snowball thing because it got me up and moving in the middle of class. My other teacher actually had us all stand up in the middle of class the other day and get into a circle and walk around the room. It was a silly thing, but it got the blood to flow back into my legs and just helped my energy in general. However, for studying I usually spend approximately 2-3 hours total. I liked the snowball activity, I thought it provided an opportunity to get class feedback on our writing and responses. In addition, when we would read other people's responses it allowed us to think of the issue in a different way and gain further knowledge.   • 28. 10 I spend a fair amount of time on psych, the textbook reading can be kind of a lot even though it is only a couple of pages, there is a lot of information and taking notes and highlighting requires more effort As far as improvement, I would say that we focus class time a lot on the big ideas but then on the tests there are some very detailed questions that are then hard to answer. I do like how the class feels like a reverse classroom set up where we teach ourselves by doing the reading and then come to class to watch a movie or do an activity because I feel like that helps me personally have a deeper knowledge and be able to remember whatever it is we are learning better. I think a lot of times the tests are too hard, I know everyone thinks tests are always too hard but I think that especially since they are worth so many points and making corrections is not an option, they seem to test the large amount of topics on a super detailed level. 10/20/2016 1:48 PM 11 1. I really enjoyed these activities. Not only did they help me with understanding the content, they also added variety to the course and were fun to complete. I enjoy the formative activities because they are a great break from lecture based classes. however, sometimes I struggle to connect the activities to the questions asked on the test. The formative information is helpful, but I feel it does not connect to the content given on tests. Studying for the test probably takes 1-2 hours but with that study time I am usually well prepared. 2. I do generally like the techniques implemented to teach the class as I think, like i said earlier, that they are helpful and fun. The only slight criticism is that there are some that might force people to share their responses who maybe didn't want to, but that might not necessarily be a bad thing. I like all of the activities so far especially the ones that have students demonstrate what we are learning, for example the two people being the right and left hemisphere of the brain. It is helpful in forming PAs during our second readings of the text (before the test) and I love that we apply what we learned to everyday life. I feel that the formative assignments and activities in class motivate us to come to class more prepared every day and are a more efficient use of our time than simply re-reading the textbook information. We are given the powerpoints to utilize when reading the modules at home, and we just go over basically the textbook, and I feel like I don't learn anything new. I do like them because it incorporates multiple learning styles and engages the students so they do not drift off during class. Yes they help me learn because I am more effective at learning by auditory and kinetic because those are the ways that I practice more for studying in the past. Answered: 10 Skipped: 23 # Responses Date 1 My entire page got reset cause I didn't finish in class and switched wifi networks, so nothing saved. I dont remember everything I said, but one of my big comments is that its hard to keep up with everything cause I have a lot of other classes to deal with as well, and can't always spend a ton of time on this class. Because of that, its more helpful to have test corrections, instead of formative assessments because the formative assessments just kind of tell me what I already know, that I'm behind. Test corrections would be way more helpful in boosting my grade, especially since in this class there arent daily quizzes like APES had, so the tests count for way more. 10/21/2016 9:07 AM 2 I understand the concept behind having majority of points be tests and not be able to do corrections since that's how college is but I think the class should be one or the other a. all points come from unit tests but you can correct FRQ's to make sure you understand the question fully to prepare for the final exam b. some of the class points come from tests but we also have graded hw assignments and activities and multiple choice quizzes so that you have more of an opportunity to change your grade 10/20/2016 1:52 PM 3 I am a very hands on learner so all of the games and things we do really help me to remember the things we've studied.
