•    Concept Maps:
     •   Connecting past and present knowledge
     •   They represent the connections between concepts
         (Shapes, Patterns, Natural World, Man-made world)
     •   Precise and verifiable
     •   Uses hierarchical structures for concepts
     •   Cross links between ideas (red+yellow=orange)

•    How do teachers use Concept Maps?
     •   Design their curriculum overview
     •   Evaluate students learning of concepts
     •   Deliver and organize new information/concept

HOW TO MAKE A CONCEPT MAP

•    6 Easy Steps to Concept Mapping:
     o Concept – what’s the main idea?
     o Generating sub concepts – related to the central theme
     o Ranking your concepts -sorting and rating their relevance
     o Finding the links – how do concepts cross-link?
     o Representation of statements – Add aids: images,
       diagrams, examples?
     o Structuring Map – How will you organize these, linear? 2
       sided persuasive argument? Cyclical process?
