Bondi Beach is a popular beach in Sydney, Australia that is approximately 1 km long and ranges from 50m to 100m wide. A shark net is installed 150m offshore for safety. At the south end of the beach are over 100-year-old Bondi Baths that are used by surf lifesavers. Swimming areas are marked by flags and the north and center sections are generally safest for swimming. Waverley Council manages Bondi Beach and consults the community on its maintenance and use to prevent environmental damage and keep visitors safe.
