Pipex Outfall & Sewer Pipe Systems Project The Thames Gateway Desalination Plant is the UK's first large-scale desalination plant in mainland Britain, on the north shore of the River Thames in the London Borough of Newham. The plant will treat brackish water from the Thames estuary using a process called 'reverse osmosis'.
