Gifts Policy
      a. Library Media Materials

Gifts will be welcome and will be subject to the same criteria which
      shall be applied to purchases.

In accepting gifts, the Library Media Centers reserve the privilege of
deciding where and how the gifts will be put to the best use. Once a
gift is added to the collection, it will be treated in the same manner as
items purchased for the Library Media Center.

If a person requests a receipt for gift materials for tax purposes,
he/she will be responsible for determining the value of the material.

      b. Monetary Gifts

The Library Media Center appreciates gifts of monetary donations.
These are usually memorials to or for a particular person, group, or
event. When a Library Media Center receives a cash gift for the
purchase of a memorial, a tribute, or other materials, the selection will
be made by the Library Media Specialist. The general nature of the
book or its subject area will be based upon the interests of the
deceased or the wishes of the donor and the needs of the Library
Media Center. When the donor does not specify the material to be
purchased with the donation, the Library Media Specialist will select
the material. If requested, a receipt will be given for a monetary
      donation.
