- BE FLEXIBLE! There are thousands of factors that will alter your plans: the weather, an important event (school trip, a birthday…), a child’s behaviour, changes in the time-table… MY PRIORITIES : Use of ENGLISH in the classroom. Provide as much input as possible to get students used to hearing instructions in English.
- Decide with other teachers the ROUTINES to follow : Call out the register Talk about the date & weather Make sure you are aware of duties and system they follow with their teacher (breakfast time, end of the day Plan an outline of the main activities: it is always better to have more than enough activities planned (if you are short of ideas…it could mean chaos!).
- ( it can be difficult to come up with natural expressions in certain situation… for instance, if you have to tell a child off!)
