6. Proper Nouns

A common noun names any person, place, thing or idea.
Examples:

8. Collective Nouns
Collective nouns name a group or collection of
people, places, things or ideas.
Examples:
The crowd sounds like a herd of elephants.
The staff includes professionals and nonprofessionals.

An abstract noun names a quality or an idea that cannot
be recognized by the senses.
Examples:

10. Possessive Nouns
The possessive form of a noun is used to show
ownership
The possessive of singular nouns is formed by adding
an apostrophe plus an s AND
For plural nouns is formed by adding just an apostrophe
Here are some examples Possessive Nouns:
1) Monica’s house  The house belongs to Monica
2) The horses’ manes  The manes belonging to the
horses
