God's Children Able to Fully Be Like Him
1. We are able to be as our Father in Heaven, Because He lives in our hearts. Willing
2. Ruth has requested that Boaz act as her Kinsman-Redeemer, and he agreed . With a condition : Ruth 3 12-13 And now it is true that I am thy near kins-man: howbeit there is a kinsman nearer than I. Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning, that if he will perform unto thee the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman's part: but if he will not do the part of a kinsman to thee, then will I do the part of a kinsman to thee, as the Lord liveth: lie down until the morning.
3. Ruth went home, and Naomi was happy and confident at the news she brought. Ruth 3 18 Then said she, Sit still , my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest, until he have finished the thing this day. Can you sit still and wait on the Lord? Will you trust in the Wisdom and Power of God? Do you trust His Love for you? Can you sit still and let God love you?
4. I need to be still and let God love me. I need to be still and let God love me. When this old world starts to push and shove me, I need to be still and let God love me. I need to relax and let God take over. I need to relax and let God take over. He will take this load off of my shoulders. I need to relax and let God take over.
5. When there's trouble all around me, And my soul cries out for rest. When I feel that I am falling, Even though I've done my best. When decisions get so heavy, And there are answers that I need. I know it's time to just be still and let God love me.
6. Ruth 4 1 Then went Boaz up to the gate, and sat him down there: and, behold, the kinsman of whom Boaz spake came by; unto whom he said, Ho, such a one! turn aside, sit down here. And he turned aside, and sat down. 2 And he took ten men of the elders of the city, and said, Sit ye down here. And they sat down. When there are matters to be discussed, sometimes we need witnesses to what is said.
7. Matthew 18 15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. 16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more , that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established . 17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
8. 3 And Boaz said unto the kinsman, Naomi, that is come again out of the country of Moab, selleth a parcel of land, which was our brother Elimelech's: 4 And I thought to advertise thee, saying, Buy it before the inhabitants, and before the elders of my people. If thou wilt redeem it , redeem it : but if thou wilt not redeem it, then tell me, that I may know: for there is none to redeem it beside thee; and I am after thee. And he said, I will redeem it . He was able to redeem the land. He was willing to redeem the land.
9. 5 Then said Boaz, What day thou buyest the field of the hand of Naomi, thou must buy it also of Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance. But then Boaz explained that when the nearer kins-man redeemed the land, he must also acquire Ruth the Moabitess. Apparently at the death of Elimelech the property had passed to Mahlon, so Mahlon’s widow Ruth was included in the redemption responsibility . A son, to whom the property would belong, should be raised up to perpetuate the family name. The Bible Knowledge Commentary: An Exposition of the Scriptures by Dallas Seminary Faculty.
10. 6 And the kinsman said, I cannot redeem it for myself, lest I mar mine own inheritance: redeem thou my right to thyself; for I cannot redeem it . He did not want to marry Ruth and have their firstborn son as an heir to Mahlon, Continuing the name of Mahlon and Elimelech. It might confuse the inheritance he would pass down to his other children . He would not want Ruth's son to inherit any of his wealth.
11. 7 Now this was the manner in former time in Israel concerning redeeming and concerning changing, for to confirm all things; a man plucked off his shoe, and gave it to his neighbor: and this was a testimony in Israel. Seal the deal.
12. 8 Therefore the kinsman said unto Boaz, Buy it for thee. So he drew off his shoe. 9 And Boaz said unto the elders, and unto all the people, Ye are witnesses this day, that I have bought all that was Elimelech's, and all that was Chilion's and Mahlon's, of the hand of Naomi. The passing of the sandal symbolized Boaz’s right to walk on the land as his property. The Bible Knowledge Commentary: An Exposition of the Scriptures by Dallas Seminary Faculty.
13. 10 Moreover Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, have I purchased to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance, that the name of the dead be not cut off from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place: ye are witnesses this day. He became their kinsman-redeemer . Ruth would become his wife. He would raise up their firstborn son to carry on the name of Elimelech through Mahlon.
14. Boaz was proud of his new wife, Ruth the Moabitess . She had chosen to be an Israelite and remained loyal to Naomi. She had proven herself to be a virtuous woman. And she had chosen to serve the True and Living God , and Him alone.
15. Ruth's marriage to Boaz would change the lives of her and Naomi forever. Out of poverty to have all their needs supplied. Out of grief into the joy of a happy marriage. Ruth would now be able to care for her beloved Mother-in-law in comfort.
16. The nearer kinsman was able to redeem Ruth and Naomi from their poverty and troubles. He was willing to redeem the land , but not willing to marry Ruth and raise up a son to Mahlon. Boaz was able and willing to fully be kinsman-redeemer unto them.
17. The sons and daughters of God are able to fully be sons and daughters of God. We have God's Word teaching us how to fully be God's children. We have God's Spirit in us to enable and empower us to walk as His children. God's Spirit produces fruit in us that we may have the character of God .
18. We must also be willing to be like our Father. To love as He loves , giving ourselves. To walk in joy, happy in the Lord. To rest in His peace, never restless nor angry. To be patient with all people and in all situations. To be gentle and good because our Father is. To trust God enough to be faithful in all. To be meekly submitted to God's Word and Spirit, and to live a life of godly moderation.
19. We are able to be as our Father in Heaven, Because He lives in our hearts. Willing
