Who should attend
This course is an introduction to the Six Sigma toolbox. The Six Sigma tools focus on
identifying and reducing product variability so they compliment the Lean tools that focus on
reducing non-valued added process steps.

- Six Sigma and Lean – two sides of the same process improvement coin
- Variation is the Enemy – and some basic statistics to describe it
- Is your Process in Control – and why is this different from meeting spec
- You Can’t Fix it if You Can’t Measure It – Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility
- Hunting for the Sources of Variation - Process Mapping, Cause & Effect, Failure Modes
Effects Analysis
- Pinning Down the Root Cause – Designed Experiments
The instructor is Martin (Marty) Weiser, Ph.D., Mechanical Engineering and Technology,
Department of Engineering & Design, Eastern Washington University. Before joining EWU he
was a Honeywell Certified Six Sigma PlusBlackbelt.
