2. Addiction of “drugs” causes perceptible
and conspicuously disastrous effects
and is
universally and rightly condemned.
But addiction of tobacco, alcohol and
other things such as TV, internet,
mobile etc. does not
cause alarmingly conspicuous and
quick damage.
In fact, many people seem to be well
off with moderate tobacco and alcohol
and many seem to
Be sad and disturbed without them.
3. Many people are happy go lucky and
live generously and benevolently with
tobacco and alcohol and many others
without
tobacco and alcohol; seem to become
fanatic,
fastidious and sadist!
Why should one suffer
deprivation and abstinence from
“exuberance and style” in such
doubtful state of affairs?
4. Namasmaran provides the answer: De-
addiction makes sense if there is
fountainhead of universal
welfare! Mere physical benefits
resulting from de-addiction is a narrow
and petty consideration
and hence does not appeal to most
people!
