2. Inspirational LessonsIf you imagine your life without your
limbs, you may feel incredibly
hopeless., however, has made his
disability an opportunity. Nick was
born without limbs. Throughout his life
his loving parents have motivated him
and taught him how to overcome his
obstacles.
When Nick was younger he was bullied
at school. At only 10 years old he
decided he wanted to end his life and
tried to drown himself in the bath. He
decided, however, that it would be
more of a disappointment to his loved
ones that he had given up than the fact
that he was “disabled”.
Nick now firmly believes that your greatest
disability is your mind. You have to learn, as
Vujicic says, to transform walls into doors.
The most important tool in success is
maintaining a positive mind; regardless of
the situation.
3. Although Vujucic studied Accounting and Financial Planning, he
now focuses on Motivational Speaking. Along with the help of a
coach, Nick Vujucic has become famous for his uplifting inspiring
speeches.
Having no limbs was not the only obstacle Nick faced; he also
had to overcome severe depression and bullying. As a result of
these struggles he has become a leader in the fight against
bullying in schools and is, at the same time, teaching young
people how to become leaders themselves. Nick believes that
by enabling others to become leaders he is enabling them to use
their own obstacles as opportunities. He has done so by holding
a camp to teach students how to overcome bullying and become
leaders. The purpose of the camp was also to show that unity is
important in overcoming obstacles. In every sphere there are
people with the same obstacles; and the same feelings towards
them – by uniting and sharing ideas it enables you to further
yourself in your battle.
4. It is important to consider that everyone has the ability to be a leader. It is also important to know that it is
possible to change obstacles into opportunities; no matter how big they are. Vujicic has proven himself in all
aspects of his life; he has made a difference in many lives (through his speeches), he is happily married, well-
educated; and has recently become a father. He truly is an inspiration.
5. “If I fail, I try again, and again, and again. If YOU fail, are you
going to try again? The human spirit can handle much worse
than we realize. It matters HOW you are going to FINISH.
Are you going to finish strong?”
“It's a lie to think you're not good enough. It's a lie to think
you're not worth anything.”
“The challenges in our lives are there to STRENGTHEN our
CONVICTIONS. They are NOT there to run us over.”
“I encourage you to accept that you may not be able to see
a path right now, but that doesn't mean it's not there.”
“If I fail, I try again, and again, and again”
“...God's love is so real that He created you to prove it.”
“... for every disability you have, you are blessed with more
than enough abilities to overcome your challenges.”
6. “Sometimes you may feel like you
are just about to realize your goal
only to fall short. That is no reason
to quit. Defeat happens only to
those who refuse to try again.”
“Have you ever felt trapped in
circumstances, then discovered
that the only trap was your own
lack of vision, lack of courage, or
failure to see that you had better
options?”
“We easily become trapped in the
'someday' mentality. Someday I'll have all the money I need to enjoy life. Someday I'll be able to spent more
time with my family. Someday I'll have time to relax and do what i love doing.”
“Risk, then, is not just part of life. It is life. The place between your comfort zone and your dream is where
life takes place. It's the high-anxiety zone, but it's also where you discover who you are.”
“The greater the struggle the more glorious the triumph”
