2. Bulldog OneSearch has Primary Sources!
Many of you are familiar with using Bulldog OneSearch to locate
resources such as academic journal articles and popular, news
articles.
Bulldog OneSearch has primary source material dating back to 1918.
This includes:
Newspaper articles written during the time of the event.
Academic Journal articles written during the time of the event.
Some letters, oral histories, and legal documents.
3. How do I locate these Primary Resources?
Search for your topic using just the name of your event, person, or
issue.
4. Choosing the correct limiters….
One option is to use the Primary Source Documents limiter. This
limiter is located in the Source Types limiting box.

Another limiting option is to use the date limiter by setting the
date parameters to reflect the time period your event took place.
Remember that Bulldog OneSearch only lets you go back as far
as 1918.
6. Choosing the correct limiters….
It is recommended that you use both limiting strategies separately
and together.
Each search, whether using the limiter alone or both together, will
provide you with a very different result list.
The Primary Source Document limiter may exclude some of the
newspaper coverage from that time period.
The date limiter may exclude a useful primary source document that
has not been tagged with a particular year.
