United Reads Through United Reads, United for D.C. supports childhood literacy by adopting local elementary schools and by creating reading corners at area health centers, providing books and other reading materials as well as celebrity readers to talk about the importance—and fun!—of reading. ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],United for D.C.

Kicks for Kids provides a gameday experience for underprivileged and at-risk youth. By exposing youth to a live soccer match played by professionals, these kids witness first hand the results of hard work, dedication, commitment and team effort. ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],In 2008, 9,000+ tickets and meal vouchers were distributed to over 140 community groups including Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington DC, Capitol Community Soccer Club, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Children’s National Medical Center, Capital Area Food Bank Kids Café, Latin American Youth Center, and numerous other organizations and public schools.
